  • The rear disc brake is made by YUTAKA. I think its TATA yutaka the same company which makes disc for karizma.

I am little confused. I haev seen 2 display models till now. i found 2 weird things

    1. The tire is made by continentel but the sticker on swingarm says tire by IRC

    2. The brake is supposedly made by Nissin but the rear disc is engraved with yutaka on it.

    • GS and Tushar: My comment regd the nutbolt missing wasn't a Tehelka type expose. It was simply worth showing.

Sreehari: RD 350 is a different machine altogether man! But its a legend now resting in history. We need to move on with machines in this new age. The CBR has actually fallen in place with the new world needs. And its come in good time. The N250 had its share of time, now its slowly going to be over. Do you remember the Kawasaki people celebrated 1000 bikes sold last year. The CBRs already got more then 3000 bookings, forget deliveries! Thats a brand impact. Sorry for OT, but if enthusiasts were serious on owning a twin they wouldn't have minded. Why the hiccup? Price and after sales.

The deliveries are just around the corner and will smoothen out in a couple of months. Again, the 'will' and 'if' will begin when other manufacturers come in with their 250s. By then, the blades would have gone long ahead with riders munching many happy miles on it

Tauseef: The discs must have been outsourced from Yutaka. Need to have a look. Nice find mate

      Want to end this OT.

      Peace!

Both CBR and Ninja will be easy to ride in traffic, but I don't think most of the owners will use the bike for commuting. You will search for roads where you can do 150 instead of riding it in traffic, when you have such machines.

We can talk endless, if we start using "if it had", "if it could", "if it would have". Let them (which are not fact) RIP and awake like a phoenix, when it becomes a reality in India. In fact Honda is having a bike which can compare with Ninja 250. Its Honda VTR 250 with a V twin engine which gives 30 bhp. I was hoping for this bike in India and I am sure Honda considered this bike for us. Still Ninja 250 is crowned as the best 250 in the world, period.

Yes, that's the same point which I made in my previous post. Again "can own" and owning a bike are two different situations. I paid extra for Ninja and I believe that something is happening.. You can pay extra than a Pulsar 220, which is 5 short I guess and you can believe something is happening

I am not against CBR here. I believe that CBR is going to rule the Indian bike market like pulsar did, provided they should fulfill the high demand without making the customer waiting. We waited for Activa after booking, as it was the best 4 stroke scooter. But Honda will loose the customers, if they don't act according to the demand + if Yamaha comes with a 250.

My favorite colour is silver, but with black alloys.
        +100

Everybike is different in its own way!
Ninja and CBR are compared out of India as both are priced almost the same there...
Here in India its a total different story with almost 80% price difference between both...

I am spending many sleepless nights controlling my Heart over my Mind on the Ninja Vs CBR250 Fight

Eagerly waiting for test ride of CBR250 !

Btw, I am the first customer in the booking list of Pratul Honda in Hyderabad...
The dealer confirmed that the first delivery would be mine (if I go for CBR250)

        Fingers Crossed!

That shows the keen and love to the bike. I don't believe Honda will do any silly mistakes. Leave the job of bolts & nuts to Honda, as they value their products than we owners. But anything can happen in India!!!

Congrats bud!!! CBR is the right and the wise decision in the current situation. You can go for higher capacity when the right bike and right price comes. Its time to remove the Ninja image tag from the bottom...

Man this threat is hot and the happening thread. Before my uploaded post comes in the page, comes many other posts.

Because its a healthy comparison and nothing was happening related to the release of the bikes.

Expecting the ownership thread in the coming weeks.

By the way, how many days/KMs a common man will ride in a track??? As both bikes are not super bikes, we will use it more in Indian traffic, not in tracks.
You sir, missed the point. My reference (that to in jest was that) 1) Give Honda a pat in the back for what they have done and at what price point and 2) Just tom toming about how ninja is superior (most used argument - it being multicylinder track tool) wont realy mask the fact that at the price for the 'extra' cylinder, one could have purchased an additional R15, CBR or RTR (other track tools) and jazz it up too!

The idea of the quote wasnt to start the chain of discussion again about R15 vs CBR s Ninja... but just to give Honda due credit where it mattered!

Agreed whole heartedly. Weeks time? Chalo I know where to get the test drive now! Dont worry I wont drop the bike! Atleast not while riding it!

Do you think all the above statements can negotiate the 25 years history of Ninja 250? Both bike's customers and sales targets are different. Lets see how the situation will be, when Yamaha comes with the 250 this year. We can say All I Well for Indian bike scenario.

                    Alright!! end of this OT

                    • Another Milestone!

As per the details in the spreadsheet, we have completed a century!!
We have over 100 bookings from xBhp now. (Spreadsheet link is in my signature)

I'm sure it'll more than whats there in that sheet as many might not have updated or missed reading about this form and spreadsheet.

From distance, first i thought might be some rider fully geared on SBK. But soon bikes came near from opposite lane, i realised it is silver cbr250r. Soon followed by another couple of silver then another 2 black & last was 4-5 red ones. Fcuk that was an awesome site to watch. Frankly speaking guys, silver cbr showed its presence on the road.
Would love to see if any ride report or first impressions from these riders who have participated in the CBR rally

Great man! And a applaud for your initiative!!! So, the 100 milestone calls for a descriptive pie chart of city, colour, etc bookings...
Ya the heat is ON.. And we hopefully (& thankfully to honda) would have our cbr under our a** in a week or two...

OT open. The CBR 250 also has a rich history, did you forget the awesome 250RR?? Wiki on this. Ninja's times up. Anyway in those 25 years of history, I wasnt present, nor did any of our fellow Indians got the old Ninjas. Have seen a lot of the 250RRs though and they make the Ninja look like a puny bike!! Let Yamaha bring their 250. All is well for our biking scenario, but Honda will triumph. Its their time now.

                              OT end.

Hearty congrats to all guys for already booking a 100 CBRs! Thats simply fabulous Way to go!

27 bookings from Bangalore, 12 from Mumbai, 9 from Chennai, 7 from Kerala( cochin and Trivandrum!), 5 from Hyderabad and 4 from Pune and other miscellaneous cities. The heat is really on( down south!)

                              • Granted the bike is a decent 250. And it's priced really well.

But it shouldn't have been tagged a CBR.

Yea. Hope they don't call it an RD250. Single Cylinder. 4 Stroke.
