The showroom probably wanted the novel value of being the first one to have a display bike in Pune...
Anyway, let's wait for the actual delivery lot to arrive before concluding anything..
Do you mean to say that the bike is assembled in the showroom
This seems to be just an excuse from the showroom guys, don't get me wrong but the missing screw thing is something which should be taken care by the factory, no bike is assembled at the showroom (other than SBK and in there case i believe that only the tyres needs to be put back on the bike and the other PDI stuff, please correct me if I am wrong)

Lets hope that this is not the case with all the bikes coming out.

P.S: I love CBR but the constant issue with the quality is scary.

I assume all over India the deliveries will begin from 25th April ie exact one month after the launch of CBR 25th March.

      Yup maybe
That is positive news if he got a call from them upfront. I haven't received any call from my dealer Om Sai Honda (Malad) as yet. I will call them tomorrow morning. Let me see what they say. I hope i get some positive news tomorrow.

You should experience it like experiencing love, to know it. Rest of the people who don't want to keep, which they don't even use a percent; CBR is the answer

We are going out of track. Itching to test ride the CBR 250. It should be stable, as well as nimble. Any news about test rides?????
Exactly. And I guess riders are going to relish the handling of the CBR which should better than the R15 and Ninja. Simply said, they need to 'experience it, to know it( thats it better than its counterparts ) Sorry yaar, am a part of that percentage of folks.

And, more importantly my friend, a personal take, any bike with decent enough power and handling is more than acceptable than something which does it at the cost of FE or extra money.

It's for extra mirrors -- the long & short of it--R15 has it too

With regards to owning a Ninja or a R15, I still dont and wont buy the thought of the 'track' thing people keep mentioning again and again. Keep talking as if we have splendid tarmac all around us, mannered traffic etc etc.

The Ninja maybe better to the CBR with that extra cylinder thrown in, but its days are now done. And I guess so, rightfully. Wont elaborate.
when bikes are made for track performance the engineering doesn't go waste or concentrated there.
having taken the 15 to every possible terrain in last 2 years ,can safely say that nothing in indian bike as of now before the cbr launch in that bracket compares to it .(yes not even the super-perfect-hallowed zmr)

ps:this is not a owner rant as I own a tvs & bajaj too & owned a honda in the past
sadly the most vociferous of the lot here (not u in particular) haven't have munched enough miles or have experiences of riding variety of bikes for considerable amounts to give their "valued" comments

there is a slew of new joinees especially after the news of CBR250R has come to India, and lions share of their posts are directed to this particular thread.

P.S. This is my personal opinion.

                • Darkknight: I am owning a trusted Honda for the past 8 years now, have ridden the R15 and it truly is spectacular. No doubt about it man. But given our conditions and everything, we need something like the CBR. The Ninja offers it but many don't agree the price factor. And with the terrific pricing of the Honda, many prospective R15 buyers will switch over immediately. Unless they are Yamaha fans.

I guess the sales will speak for themselves.

I had seen in all the pics that the Brakes were NISSIN. In this pic its BYBRE. Any idea if NISSIN is only in C-ABS version. Even the ZMA & ZMR has NISSIN.

                      • @Darknight: R15 is indeed awesome and so it CBR buddy
I still like the fairing of R15 ( I wont go to the technical side as I am not much into all that + I am an electronics engg guy so my knowledge about all this is not even 1% compared to you guys )

@myg124: Yes dude, the sales will speak

@airbase: Yes dude, I bet more than 50% of the new users will forget about XBHP once their bike is given to them. Well even I admit I will decrease the frequency at which I visit XBHP as I have booked CBR and I am desperate to get any update about it.

I don't know to express it better than this. If one is having advantage in one part; other will have it in other areas, due to the same reason.

Are you buying CBR because of FE?? CBR also comes at an extra price. Only difference is "at an affordable extra price". Also at an affordable FE. That really matters here. Right vehicle, at right price is a win win situation in the market. The response to CBR is a simple example. Let more capacity bikes come to the market at the right price, you will see the real response.
Simple reason Ninja being 1 cylinder more, you can pull more hence that little extra advantage. Nothing else. It does a ton, CBR falls 6 short I guess, doesnt matter. You aint going to do 150 all day long here( on our tracks!). The business area is where it excels at.

R15 shouldnt be compared in the first place. I guess if Honda had given 1 cylinder more, it would have knocked the socks off the N250 big time. But even then, it is giving competition, infact within a few months, total run for its money.

Am not buying the CBR yet, forget the FE and money part. But at that price it seems logical as well as practical enough to own one. I can own a Ninja if I want to but then it doesn't buy me. Besides, its extra costs are very affordable when something happens

Really excited and keen to see the markets response, but nothing seems around the corner for the moment which gives this baby the advantage right now. I foresee how the real response will be.

As ever, its down to the wire!

After all that 6 extra or short doesn't matter. If that was the case, I won't be selling my RD 350. Ninja is no where near RD. The usability of that extra matters. Both CBR and Ninja will be easy to ride in traffic, but I don't think most of the owners will use the bike for commuting. You will search for roads where you can do 150 instead of riding it in traffic, when you have such machines.

R15 shouldnt be compared in the first place. I guess if Honda had given 1 cylinder more, it would have knocked the socks off the N250 big time. But even then, it is giving competition, infact within a few months, total run for its money.
We can talk endless, if we start using "if it had", "if it could", "if it would have". Let them (which are not fact) RIP and awake like a phoenix, when it becomes a reality in India. In fact Honda is having a bike which can compare with Ninja 250. Its Honda VTR 250 with a V twin engine which gives 30 bhp. I was hoping for this bike in India and I am sure Honda considered this bike for us. Still Ninja 250 is crowned as the best 250 in the world, period.

Am not buying the CBR yet, forget the FE and money part. But at that price it seems logical as well as practical enough to own one. I can own a Ninja if I want to but then it doesn't buy me. Besides, its extra costs are very affordable when something happens

Yes, that's the same point which I made in my previous post. Again "can own" and owning a bike are two different situations. I paid extra for Ninja and I believe that something is happening.. You can pay extra than a Pulsar 220, which is 5 short I guess and you can believe something is happening

I am not against CBR here. I believe that CBR is going to rule the Indian bike market like pulsar did, provided they should fulfill the high demand without making the customer waiting. We waited for Activa after booking, as it was the best 4 stroke scooter. But Honda will loose the customers, if they don't act according to the demand + if Yamaha comes with a 250.

My favorite colour is silver, but with black alloys.
