Update on my bike:
My dealer, yet again, offered me a black bike. On telling him that i'd rather wait for the red one till it comes, he was like, "ok sir, you talk to this guy who handles west zone sales.. because the dispatch schedules are handled by Honda. We have requested for all red bikes and they have dispatched 4 black and 1 silver in this lot... Which is frankly useless for us because we have all red bookings waiting... Even we are frustrated with the Honda people...".
This sucks!
P.S.: Ninja 650R is tempting.. doesn't make sense for me to shift right now.. but what the heck.. temptations have a mind of their own..

Something like that in my city too. When I asked for black they said they can provide it anytime I want.

Honda CBR 250R

Finally I have booked CBR 250R as an alternative to GT650R coz the showroom is not yet open in Bangalore.
I just visited the Ducati showroom in Bangalore, they have taken the dealership. Its gonna be a month to start the campaign and again 4 months for the delivery.
I cant hold me breath on bikes.

i've booked a black bike. i think these guys are lying and just saying they have the other colour in stock. no matter what you say.
tell them you booked 3 bikes, all 3 colours.
they will say that they got a purple bike in the warehouse.

if you just booked your cbr then you're going to have to wait for at least 4 months

Nopes i will be getting it in 3 months and moreover I have booked the Silver one.

Test ride.

Got to test ride the bike today.

Likes:
Brakes (ABS)
I can only see the bad road but cant feel it. comfort
Good pulling power. 0-100 reached so fast.
Gear shift. So smooth. I have never used this toe shift type before. But, felt comfortable with CBR.
Rider seating position. Not too bent like R15.
Killer look. One guy came behind starring the bike, felt like walking with aishwarya rai

Dislikes:
-Paint quality.
1)I can see lot of patch works done. Uneven paint finish
2)Very bad paint work near handlebar.

-Horn. Sounds like a activa horn
-Rear seat too high. Was @pillion seat for atleast 10kms. No way ladies can climb up to the Himalayan height without a help of stool. Strictly for chicks with jeans...no saree/churidar.

One main issue:
I felt the engine rough when compared to R15 and Apache RTR 180.
Is this usual or only me?

This issue really keeps me away from this beauty. I'm confused friends

Also, i can reach top speed of only 125-128km/h. i was expecting around 140km/h max. But the engine felts out of power at just 125km/h

Finally booked the black baby!

Guys finally booked a black std cbr two days before
An intresting thing happened as i entered the showroom.when i approached a sales representative and i enquired about the cbr he just pointed at the bike and the very next moment started talking about the honda twister saying that its the best bike ..hehe then i showed my clear intentions on booking a cbr so another guy came and showed the bike.A red cbr was on display and another red and a black also a silver were in the workshop waiting for the delivery.the bikes didnt look of proper fit and finish,the black one had a scratch on the silver tail panel and the red one had a major scratch on the exhaust.looked liked it has taken a fall.i just hope that i dont get the bike in the fit and finish that i saw.my major reason for not booking the bike early was that i heard somewhere that the first bikes may have problems and not good in finish quality. when i asked for a test ride the guy said that these bikes are for customers and the test ride vehicle is in some loan mela nearby.said that he would call me asap when the bikes reach showroom and that is on 12 or 13th.eagerly waiting for the test ride.the waiting peroid is 3-4 months for the black and 5-6 months for the red and 2-3 months for silver.till then wiil be glued to this forum..

Dude how much kms had it done? The bike is new man what do you expect?

That's applicable only for human baby. Isn't that reverse for bikes??!!!!

it's a test bike. they wouldn't have run it in properly and as a result, the engine is f**ed. thats what happens when you try to take a new bike to its limit and results in uneven expansion and compression of engine parts. it's not permanent but it can't be repaired without blueprinting your engine.

the rough and engine and decreased top end sound like the first problems you face when your piston rings etc are gone. and it seems like the showroom people couldn't care less about maintaining a display bike. for all you know, someone there might be using it as his personal vehicle after the shutters go down

Its just 55km on odo. You meant to say it has less top speed because its still in run-in period? If so, may be i can agree your point. But i don't think the engine will be rough during run-in period. i may be wrong, any CBR owners, can you please comment on this.

Its just 55km completed on odo, in this 20-25km was me in pillion seat. The showroom guy did rash driving but, will the engine give up so early at just <50km???
Agreed, top speed may increase after run-in period or first service. But engine smoothness
