Build quality? Bajaj?Originally posted by csajal View PostDoes have a BIG appeal. The best part is... even the West is appreciating the build quality that has been achieved by Bajaj for this machine.
last time i checked KTM was Austrian, when did Bajaj start building KTMs?Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

As far as I know, and I think my knowledge is correct that the 125 KTM Duke was engineered in KTM facilities but is being manufactured in Bajaj's Chakkan facility and would be imported outside. That's why a 200cc or + KTM Duke gains more leverage in India.Originally posted by R-series View PostBuild quality? Bajaj?

Well to add more to that, Mr. Rajeev Bajaj has himself revealed in an interview with BS Motoring that by this year end, Bajaj would be bringing in KTM Duke 200 by this year end. Also, even bigger KTMs might also find their way into India.

Well there you have it, just because its being made at a bajaj facility doesn't mean its thier's right..? Its engineered by KTM means, what to make? how to make.?is or was decided by KTM...so it would still be a KTM product rather than being called a "Bajaj built" product.Originally posted by csajal View PostAs far as I know, and I think my knowledge is correct that the 125 KTM Duke was engineered in KTM facilities but is being manufactured in Bajaj's Chakkan facility and would be imported outside. Its like if ducati is produced in india, by indian's doesn't mean its an indian product, it would still be an italian bike. There is no compromise in quality..because the standards and procedures remain the same..its should be the same with KTM in this case too.Last edited by R-series; 02-05-2011, 12:11 AM.Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Its an All-rounder...
All-rounders are versatile, general purpose street motorcycles. Standard all-rounder bikes usually do not come with fairings or windscreens, or if they have them, they are relatively small.

That's true. But I read a review of KTM125 somewhere (sorry, but don't remember the source) that many of the components have been sourced from India while only a few have come from Austrian factory. Yes, the parts from Austria are much more critical and hence come from there. Also, Bajaj has made investments in new manufacturing technology for KTM.Originally posted by R-series View PostWell there you have it, just because its being made at a bajaj facility doesn't mean its thier's right..? Its true that the build quality of KTM125 is due to the practices of KTM but this opens up the doors for better quality in Bajaj bikes. Since Bajaj is already sourcing good quality components, they might as well use them in Pulsars. It would be silly to assume that Bajaj would use best manufacturing practices and components for KTM while continuing with mediocrity on Pulsars. And I would give benefit of doubt to Bajaj.

If it is built at Bajaj.. doesn't it tell you that Bajaj is capable of achieving classy build quality?? even though KTM tells them what is needed to be done.. it's the execution part that matters, this proves that Bajaj got both facilities & capabilities required to go to the next level. Don't forget that they already own more than a third of KTM and they intend to acquire management control by 2014.Originally posted by R-series View PostWell there you have it, just because its being made at a bajaj facility doesn't mean its thier's right..? Oh c'mon if you know the secrets of KTM and have the Blue prints what they do and how they do it..you can make the same stuff in your backyard with the required infrastructure ofcourse..does that make it your product or KTM's? the credit would still go to KTM irrespective who's making it..unless you change the answer for "how to make it?"Originally posted by vrugonnab View PostIf it is built at Bajaj.. doesn't it tell you that Bajaj is capable of achieving classy build quality?? even though KTM tells them what is needed to be done.. it's the execution part that matters, this proves that Bajaj got both facilities & capabilities required to go to the next level. This is the same reason Jaguars (being under Tata) are still selling because its a Jaguar. Ferrari's because they are Ferrari product and not Fiat. get the point. I don't say your wrong. At the end the Financial profit might go to Bajaj, thats understood and it might sell as a bajaj product, but I expect you to understand its still made by KTM..though its made in India, though its made at the bajaj plant and though its made by indians.Last edited by R-series; 02-05-2011, 01:35 AM.Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Wooah..Damn! I'm out of this one..looks like there's lot much going on at the back than it seems to be outside. If its engineered and designed by bajaj..then its a Bajaj Product.
