Now that youve mentioned it, i can bet you Honda, Suzuki and Hero will be all smiles when people start flocking their showrooms for the Dream Yuga, Hayate, and the Splendor/Passion bikes

Guys, let's not discuss this in this forum. There would be hardcore supporters of "Brilliant Minds" running the country. Let's keep this clean.

      Absolutely agree.
Yes even i was wondering the same, tell you what, a few months back in kerala, there was a newspaper report of a chap who rode some 100+kms on a litre of petrol on a Fazer, he said he had developed some new technique or something, it was covered pretty nicely in the papers , but then thats the last i heard of it, seems to have vanished into thin air. No more information can be heard/found. And from time to time we all have read about some development that will make petrol very very cheap as to the tunes of 10-15rs/lt was being developed, nothing on that either.
Wonder why it is like that.
But hey there are some interesting development in electrical bikes, some people who follow the TT will be aware if this right ? An Indian company is also a part of it. PTR seemed to say that they will cover a peice on it but that too not to be sen, or have i missed it ?

Today morning i saw a video about another electric bike, sports bike that is with top whack of 200mph and range of 100+miles.

      Impressive right ?

      Cheers

      • Saying transportation from oil refinery adds up to the cost of the fuel is wrong. In my native Assam current fuel price is 76.62/L where there is tens of oil refineries. We have there Digboi Oil Refinery, Numaligarh Oil Refinery(NRL), Guwahati Refinery. So it takes only a few kilometers before it reaches the petrol bunk right? How come Delhi price is still 73.18/L when it has to travel thousand of kilometers. Not saying only Assam has all the refineries, but trying to put the point of distance.

On the other hand, we people in Bangalore are always privileged lot pay more money for everything.

So, the govt. is sure to blame with MMS and his mother Italy Sonia on top.

Why dont we plan a nation wide protest. A 'No Petrol Day' or something. It could be really effective.

Wasnt that the plan itself, increase by a big amount and then decrease a little to shut the people up ? I mean this drill has been going on for quite sometime now.

One way to go is making a leap to using lighter and stronger materials and better designs in order to reduce vehicle weight. If a 100 kilo bike gives a fuel avg of 70-80 kmpl, a bike that is 3\4th or 1\2 its weight can easily manage much better.

yes... lighter vehicle. An alternative to Carbon fibre (much lighter than metal but hell expensive)

Electric vehicle, am not very fond of. Unless it can deliver the same power & make me feel enthusiastic, I would stay away from it.

Seems like he was looking for sponsors..

uff.. The final thing is that we people crib about it and give suggestions and in the end nothing is gonna change apart from what has been the gameplan of the rulers of this country. so have we lived all these years and so will we live..

Right to vote is what we all have, that's while having 2 crimxxals standing against each other asking for vote. It's like asking someone to fill the blank with a Yes or no for a question '__, I don't have brain'. In the end whether you say yes or no the meaning will remain same. Like the outcome on who ever you vote.

The only way out for our country is when people who want this to be fixed starts willing to enter politics themselves. I am sure 6 out of 10 of those will get corrupted in the process, but the rest 4 people will be the key.

I think I should wake up now and continue my work and not dream. Really, feel very emotional while typing this post seeing the sad state of our country in all aspects.

We cannot behave like parasites depending upon govt. price control on a commodity which was decontrolled ages back.

If you do want to crib over something, crib over lack of facilities, poor governance, scams etc. Petrol pricing is not something which the govt. can control for too long.

The problem was that my bike didn't have fuel. And I needed it to be filled up. Had I wanted to actually save money, I would have filled up the 60 liter tank of the Civic (for which there was practically no queue).
Thats where the problems lies you have money and can afford it may be 100rs/ltr.. do you have any idea but for some people 11-12% hike in their commuting price can mean a lot, their children school fees can be equal to & whose budget is always on negative every months( do your maths to find how much percentage of Indian population comes in this kind of economy range) I know people changing to public transportation/ walking from personal conveyance because of fuel price hike. for you or may be for me also this ~12% is not big issue but yes there are lots of people where extra burden of 300-400 INR is big deal.

You know biggest problem fuel is subsidized for same for person filling his 100cc bike(fuel efficient cheap bike) traveling for his living or already tight running business( where commuting is must) and person running his 1000cc bike or say BMW or Merc for it is pure luxury.

Some time I think can not it be like fuel prices related to vehicle owned or Like different price for different vehicle hardwired in the vehicle machine or petrol pump machine or monthlyor luxury tax etc for high profile vehicle every month ( may be related with fuel receipt etc, whatever modus operandi that can be worked out later) for compensate for subsidy price he enjoy by for his BMW or R1 that is matter of school tution fees or monthly rice consumption for another scooty owner.

I know people will crib about black marketing, fuel stealing or like that but it is a step in right direction to segregate the person for which 3-4 INR hike is huge and people for whom it is not a very big deal to lose sleep over.
Drive FAST but not Rough, Drive SAFE But not Slow.

                              • I think fuel should be sold like a ration to everybody, say like 50litres a month for about 40rs/lit for everybody, after that next 25-30litres for about 50rs/litre and after that directly to 80rs./litre. Most of us would not be using more that 100 litres in a month, This would allow us to control our travel and also make our travel arrangements as per our necessity.
This way a common man can get the benefit of subsidy and rich person pays the premium. i know there will be loop holes in this also, but atleast a common man or lets say in govt's words the vote bank would benefit.

Other thing for car owners, would be they would think of Car pooling for dividing the fuel expenses, which would make less traffic on roads and again better riding or driving conditions. This way even Govt. would be happy and even people would be satisfied. Maybe the oil companies will have to bear some losses at the start but will start making profits in long term.

Think over it, it not only to blame the Govt. maybe we can give them some ideas to control this.
This is majorly for private car or bike owners, but for public transport or lorries we can have some different policy similar to this.
