If we are blaming the congress and rightfully for the price hike, i dont know what good the other party would have done. Once you are in power, you can do anything. Public interest is the last think on their minds. Its the politicians in general be it party A or B, public welfare is of least interest to them.30+ YEARS OF RIDING

Somebody needs to create a petition which would revoke the Govt officials/MPs/Politicians from using Diesel/Petrol vehicles with TaxPayers money for Fuel/purchase of brand new vehicles for as long as the stupendous taxes on fuel is reduced by atleast 50%.
Cut down on MP's stupendous pay hikes every year or two. MP's were earning under 50k two years ago which has now doubled even though their performance efficiency has been drastically reducing.
These are some of the steps to "Regulate" inflation.
Oh and JAIL any minister for a minimum period of 5 years(no bail) who lends his government vehicles for family trips.
Remember, if the govt cannot help you survive, you shouldnt let the govt survive either. That said, i would definitely like to see the number of people who would resign when a law is passed stating all govt officials are hereby ordered to spend their own gotdamn money on fuel and travel expenses.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Alas the irony is that it s these faggots itself who have to pass the bill to make all this possible. Good luck with that.lol

Educated people should understand that
1. Govt is run by taxes
2. Poor are taken care by taxes
3. Infra is built on taxes.
4. Petrol is DE-regulated, majority have passed bill in parliament classifying petrol as de-regulated commodity.
5. Govt. did not increase petrol price, but PSU did it else they may have to shut down, b'cos they cannot procure oil for India, b'cos of high crude price and stronger dollar and impending Euro crisis.
So at least educated should stop ranting about petrol hike, we will use our bikes even if it is Rs.200/litre, so far no one has abandoned their bikes b'cos of petrol hike, so let's stand by our nation's decision.

And why was it de-regulated? That is the reason why these unprecedented rise is happening, if the money paid by taxes(lakhs and lakhs of crores of Rs.) for doing points 1,2&3 like you mentioned weren't eaten up by our "government" then the "government" could have afforded to subsidize or afford to pay the subsidy and balance the price rise , like how it was done during the time it was regulated.
And why should the prices be hiked by 8rs and is it that manufacturing of petrol has only increased ? what about deisel ? Where they sleeping all this long and suddenly woke up and thought..Gee, i'm going through a lot of loss, let me hike the price of petrol by 8rs per liter ?

Have some respect for our nation's PM, please. We came to know scams b'cos of transparent PM like MMS.Originally posted by rx100.7050I can go all out with what's wrong within the system. I am at full rage against this present govt. Never imagined the Dr Sardar, whom I used to respect, would mis-manage things so bad.
Everyday CAG comes with mismanagement of funds, irregularities & what not. This country is really running "Ram Bharose". Delhi govt. blows out public money on experiments learned from foreign trips (that too should be countered) & apply illogically here resulting on fuel wastage! Jams/mismanagement everywhere causes precious fuel waste. Public transport can be described, at the best, pathetic. I am not able to derive advantage of Metro or Low floor AC bus!
Too much of rants I have. Will stay quite now.
It's not PM decision to hike petrol price, it's oil companies who are short of cash to purchase oil for nation's demand. Are you aware of sliding Re ?
Do you want Petrol for Free ?

Please exercise restraint while discussing the fuel price hike. Being derogatory towards the country's administrators will not serve any positive purpose.
People like us can only grope around in the quagmire of conjecture while looking for possible reasons behind the price increase. I doubt if anyone can know the 'real' reasons behind it. And I also see no point in people just venting their anger through the posts here.

@vipin_s - While your post is right, there's nothing incorrect with rx100's post either; he just vented out his frustration, which is incidentally one of our fundamental right - RIGHT TO SPEAK!!!
A few can accept & move without ranting, but its not for a few. Instead of hiking the Petrol, why doesn't the Govt start collecting the pending taxes from IOL (Heard several a decade+ ago that their pending tax alone accounts for over 500 cr, which falls under top 10 defaulters list)
I'm sure there're several other methods to increase the income & properly manager the tax payer's money instead of unnecessarily spending on people like Kasab or the spineless people can't withstand the wrath of lorry owner's association to hike the price of Diesel.
For now, Petrol prices have increase, you, me nor anyone or all of us together can't do anything against this. When we all vote unanimously, we all have the same right to question when things go wrong too, atleast, that's what is Democracy, otherwise, anyone would be killed when asked questions, like posts getting deleted
But it couldn't be passed without his consent either!!!Originally posted by vipin_s View PostIt's not PM decision

That again raises the question, why was it de-regulated. Before the government used to pay for the subsidy on these petroleum product and making it available for the public at Rs.40/liter.Originally posted by vipin_s View PostHave some respect for our nation's PM, please. But then guess what the government dint have anymore money to pay the petroleum people for subsidy. WHY ? Because their ministers were busy eating up the money of the people who earned it by working hard, and the treasury was licked clean.
So now the government has no money to pay the subsidy and the de-regulise the price of Petroleum products. Now the petroleum guys dont want to get bankrupt so they obviously raise the price, but now the government doesnt have to bother to pay the subsidy and lets the people take the blow full on on the nuts. If that isnt selfishness at work then what is it ? Do you care to explain ?

.
1) Where to? Because i dont see the govt going anywhere.
2) Really? Since when? Did you know there are about 28 villages in Orissa alone that havent seen "electricity" to date post independence?
3) What Infra? Have you ever been to the state of karnataka and seen the plight of roads including that of National highways? Do visit this Monsoon and we shall discuss "infrastructure".
And before you point out that the Monsoon is to be blamed for all that, id show you a few roads built during the British Rule i.e. pre 1947 that are still as good as new after all these years of Monsoon. Not a single pothole to date.
4) If Petrol is deregulated, how on God's earth are we paying 21 bucks more per litre than what Pakistan is paying for the same fuel?
Remember there are more vehicles in India than people in the neighboring countries.
5) Have you ever wondered, that if Oil companies are suffering from losses how on god's earth would they be functioning all this while?
They say govt increasing fuel prices does very little to no difference to their losses in hundreds to thousands of crores.
And you still believe that?Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

I would now like the vehicle manufacturers to come up with some path breaking technology to counter this. What has happened to Bio-fuel, any idea? There are cases where oils used by restaurant is re-cycled for generating electricity in US (New York, I guess). Can't something be done like this?"HASTA LA VICTORIA, SIEMPRE !" - Chesigpic
