Ya i agree with you dude..mostly on the Nh4 so throttle is wide open..

Yes i use synthetic oil for the bike (4000kms change), also have changed the filter on the last service, chain lubing is done on every sat regardless of kms run in the week.

About bunker, i refill at that shell pump which is there near warje on the hway. All the ones you mentioned are off route and the other side which i hardly visit...Yes dude the pinch is too high when it delivers like 25-35kmpl average especially in today's time..

Looks like your bike likes the taste of Shell Super (Or Regular?) so it gulps even more of it. Don't worry, My Civic does something similar .

AND 45kmph is too slow. We didn't buy Pulsars to ride them at 45 .

Even I got the same WHOOPING figure on my 220 (Actually 55 )!!! I am still shocked (yet to hit reserve. Bike has already done 150+ in 2.69 liters Worth Rs.200) The last time I did 150km in 200 worth of petrol was when Petrol was priced around 60

The max I have got till date is 48kmpl when the bike was sparkling new!
It went down to 28ish and now it remains around 38-42ish with Shell normal from Hinjewadi.

same trusted old bike... the high fe is a recent phenomenon... thats the reason i checked here. it used to be in the 38-43 range in the past. all calculations reserve to reserve. will have to check with shell normal now... last time i checked it was around 40... so didnt bother.

yep.. our Govt is implying that it has no say in petrol pricing by Oil companies. So, next time price of crude barrel goes up, be ready for a big petrol price hike

According to wikipedia, Bharat Stage emission standards - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, BS-IV was enforced from April 2010. Which means that all regular unleaded petrol will be RON 91. This would mean all those high end bikes like Ninja, hyosung can run on regular unleaded petrol then??

Yes, you are correct. I am always using regular grade fuel in my bike.

Thanks for the clarification man! Actually I had this doubt, when I was asking the Hyosung dealers in Bangalore, about what type of petrol the bike needs. Those guys told me to use Premium petrol. Which was a bit odd, as Premium petrol in India is just regular petrol with some additives, and I don't think there is any boost in the octane, unlike speed 93 or speed 97 which actually have high octane levels.

I guess they recommend Premium petrol, as there are less chances of it being mixed !!
