A big amount from this price still goes to the state governments!

Correct me if I'm wrong though...
Not a big amount but yes a pretty decent one.. VAT and Octroi...

Most of the time(or read never) this thing not happen because, there are 2 ready statement.

            Statement 1 :-
OIL companies claim they score huge loss earlier by selling Petrol,so this is the only time when the actually see the profit......

            ..........and if still anyone argue,

            Statement 2 :-
OIL companies claim, everyday they loosing money by selling subsidize Dissel, Gas cylinder & kerosene....petrol is the only fuel they can gain their market survival profit. So the International price drop can't be passable to the End users pocket.

So de-regularize Petrol price only go north, never go south in here.

So the government should understand that their method is pathetically flawed...

              • Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seemed unmoved by the rising clamour against the fuel hike. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the G-20 deliberations in Cannes, he said, "We must move in the direction of decontrolling more prices. I have no hesitation in saying markets must find their own levels."
this is what our "Honorable" Prime Minister told in a press conference after which i don't think that there's any scope in which we gonna get petrol at cheaper rates..though several parties are now pressurizing congress regarding this issue.

                • Petrol price reducing by 2 f'in Rupees!!!!

Petrol price may be cut by Rs 2 a litre on Nov 17 - The Times of India

OT: Did anyone else feel that due to increased prices, petrol sales suffered leading to too much stock + less adulteration + better FE?

Whatever it is.... my bike did feel the effect as its FE rose by as much as 30% without me getting it serviced or anything.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

                  • Instead levying vat and sales tax on petrol.. charge the same on high-end 4 wheelers & SUVs, buyers will buy vehicles, but the common man will be spared from the regular burden of VAT and ST on petrol.

are you sure?? cz mine does 250 kms in 6.7 liters..and its a 180 Pulsar.

In 200 rs fuel for my bike it would hardly 60-70kms...

Checking all this by reserve to reserve method...

70km in 200 petrol is waaay too low! (26ish kmpl )

3 step procedure to raise FE.
                              1. CHANGE engine oil AND Air Filter (No cleaning.. only changing) AND Lube the chain.
                              2. Switch to a better fuel bunk.
                              3. Slap yourself and ride sanely*.

I was also checking by reserve to reserve method. Filling Rs.200 worth petrol every time. The last few calculations have been:
                              44 : BPCL RTO Pune
                              43.5 : BPCL Wakdewdi CoCo
                              46.2 : BPCL RTO Pune
                              *Fuel Price hiked*
                              48.2 : BPCL Wakdewadi CoCo
55.x : HPCL opposite Agri College

                                Sanely- hehehehe,
Ya i agree with you dude..mostly on the Nh4 so throttle is wide open..

Yes i use synthetic oil for the bike (4000kms change), also have changed the filter on the last service, chain lubing is done on every sat regardless of kms run in the week.

About bunker, i refill at that shell pump which is there near warje on the hway. All the ones you mentioned are off route and the other side which i hardly visit...Yes dude the pinch is too high when it delivers like 25-35kmpl average especially in today's time..

Lets see now how the average goes.

                                Sanely - 45kmph????
