Anyways keeping my fingers crossed, if they keep it in the same price bracket as of the older one, they certainly do have a customer in me
When the white-red edition R15 was launched they priced it 500/1000 Rs more for the color only...

guys, i dont think its just a cosmetic upgrade. Its a R series bike & yamaha wont do anything that affects its bikes peformance inversily.
And this bike looks much sportier than the current r15. And yeah original r15s rear looked so 'cheap' ,but this looks awesome.
    it's a fact.

So what about the new alloys?

Well if its a bigger engine (200/250 whatever..) then techincally it should have a new name and not R15.. for example like R20 or R25. Kinda like Pulsar150/180/220.

I too have my doubts that a new engine would be available.

The R15 with its sharp handling and revvy engine is pretty good for a 150 cc. The redesign now makes the orginal malnourished rear now look healthy.

The older bike looks classy, nice sharp aggresive lines... very exiciting! The newer ones has curves in the wrong areas, almost as if the sharper one had a bad silicon job!

Just me, I guess, but I dont fall for Phat tyres and all!
Lets wait to check out the bike in the flesh. Looks like a decent job to me in the photos.

the new design alloys will weigh lesser than the existing version. this small gain in weight may be compesated by using slightly larger tyres. overall the weight of the bike should not be increasing much.

ya i think so... and from the pics the rear tyre is not not too phat like FZ... it maybe a 120-130 one

also i dont think yamaha will completely replace the existing model. this new model may be available separately . the disc brakes look exactly the same. a bigger engine should require bigger brakes -right? so no change in engine expected

Yeah I agree, looks like if this is a new bike, then it would have a lil bit of fine tuning in the internals (read the race kit parts like high lift cams and lighter pistons would come in) and with the cosmetic pojher upgrades and may be a projector setup to sync up with the 2010R1

on close examination i am concluding that the exhaust pipe is slightly different from the existing one. the total length of the riders seat seems to have slightly increased which should help taller riders sit back and crouch properly while at high speeds. usually test bikes sport different sort of registration plates or some times no plates at all. the bike in the photo seems to be having a normal registration plate. what do you guys think? is it a registered bike?

On checking the pics the tail, alloys and the rear swing arm have come straight of R125 not sure about the front forks...

Hopes hopes.. If this is indeed a 125, undoubtedly it should come at a lower price, and thats what drives my heart pounding..

Again, if its R125, then R15 will have a younger sibling who looks much hotter than him..

125 are for those 16yr olds in europe, dont expect r125 here(btw if it launched here its gonna cost much more than r15, and that is a stupid thing to do)
.and if yamaha just planning an update for r15 it is the best time for them to do it. Coz they got like only 5-6 months.(cbrrrr!)

Hi guys Im new here This is my first post but have been following alot of the threads for a very long time.

Having seen an R125 in person, I can say with confidence that this is not a R125. The R125 is much bigger than the bike shown in the pics, the tank on this bike is also much smaller compared to R125. Its most probably a replacement for the existing R15.

Having been a yamaha fan for a long time, I'm sure that there is more this new replacement (hopefully!) than just a facelift. There must be some upgrades under the hood also (likely engine size,to match the bigger size proportions of their tires), as Yamaha will most probably will not want to decrease the performance of their bike(whose priority is to give the best performance) just for looks.

Having used a friends R15 before, I really hope that yamaha has tuned the engine to add more torque at lower rpms on this bike. It is extremely annoying changing gears constantly in city traffic.

If this is really a replacement as speculated, Im eager to buy this bike.(Thank god I pushed my decision to buy a R15 by a year!)

Anyways this is my 2cents on this topic.
