Thanks a lot for the pic. Its looking smashing to say the least. I am waiting for a racing yellow/ black shade to emerge now.

I trully hope it would have more bottom end thrust, btu chances are bleak, since we are contemplating a minor bump in power as well, and that leaves less scope for improvement.

No Mr Saravjit, we are not yet done spaeking the looks. ! did any one notice the faux carbon fibre treatment just below the seat. adds some professionalism I would say.

And for the tyre hugger overdone thingy, just remove the bottom part. If you look closely its a two piece stuff. it would certainly add some more character and make the fatter tread pattern more visible.

Boy, I am happy and waiting for Sep 6 to come soon!

    • Looks pretty neat, except the rear mud guard, pretty sure most will modify that, hoping the split rear seat will fit the older version, chassis looks the same, as i'm looking to replace my damages rims, would be nice if these ones fit, with the new rubber! will need to know if the swing arm is the same, who's first for the R&D?
Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

Yeah, first thought were exactly the same. It's fake but looks cool..

Thanks for the pic whosoever clicked it and posted it here.

Don't take me wrong though but how hard is to click a frame where the whole bike fits? In some pics,we have the muffler only, somewhere the front is covered! I want to SEE the whole bike in ONE snap. Or different pics covering all the details. That's asking for too much I know...
If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!

          • From the latest shared pIc the ENgine looks the same. they may have done some Weight reduction by making the rear thinner. Hope the rear part fits the old R15 too. Also i didn't see any huge change in the tyre size too..
personally i like the side fairing of the old one (I own one). But the new rear looks awesome but the second part of the rear mud guard doesn't do justice to the cool new looks, even I am pretty sure most will remove that.. waiting for sept 6th

            • A BAD NEWS for the existing customers ...

from the available sources and information... if old customer thinking of swapping the new R15 2.0 styling ..then get ready for big dissapointment

as there are several changes pertaining to , swingarm , chasis will limit the scope of installing new styling without modification .. and it will not be a straight forward swap.

changes includes - ECU mapping, Swingarm change, CHasis change, tyre change, complete fairing change except from mask and tank .. all together may cost upward of 30K
              Nothing is Impossible ...

I had already calculated all this as soon as I saw the picture.
I have decided not to swap parts with the new one-will have mine as Classic!

There's no Yamaha decal on the tank pad in this picture..

                        20K + tax for chasis
                        8.5K for ECU
4.2K for Swingarm (Not sure about the rate for this)
                        2K for Tyre
3K for Fairing (New should be costly)
5K tits and bits including labor ...

hhmm.. Looks like 40K+ to me..

EDIT: It would be fun to see R15 V1 vs R15 V2 on a track...

                          +100

it will be little expensive to convert V1.0 to V2.0 .. instead spending 30-40K for conversion ... one can sell the current R15 and directly buy the new one [old sale price + mod price].

                          OR

Wait like to me get the next big thing ... in my case it would be GT250R

+1, it just doesn't make sense to burn money for current R15 v1 owners.

What?? No cosmetic changes to the front? Why arent they catering to the real needs of their buyers? Who needs more power when the bike cant be differentiated head on from the CR15 (Classic R15)? Or is it the OR15 (Old R15)? Either ways, bad Yamaha!

                              Neil angry! Neil smash!!

That close up pic of the bike was quite revealing. Does anyone have any inside information on the paint schemes that will be available? Inside information differs from opinions and hunches.

+1 to that. It makes no sense selling the old R15 for the new one if there is no change in power especially.
From what I am hearing, it seems like all adjustments in ECU, sprocketing etc. have been made only to suit the cosmetic changes like fatter tyre, swingarm etc.!
I will rest my comments till the bike is out.

P.S. Let us not get our hopes too high on the Hyosung. CBR disappointed.
