All the best with the CBR it's a nice ride, as far as your remarks regarding counter steer, I think you're misunderstanding the meaning of the term, to turn any two wheeler be it a cycle, scooter or motorcycle above around 20kmph, the only way you can steer is by counter steering, leaning and shifting position only add to what you are doing, i suggest you read up a bit more, or watch some video guides, you'll find some available on youtube.Originally posted by degenr8 View PostHaving owned R15 and now owning CBR i think the above statement one off which every bike will have and there will always be issues in every one (I believe every bike has its imperfections, top most being its rider
) .
R15. Boy that bike is superb, cornering was the best.
CBR is more fun to me now i love how easily you can counter-steer in city traffic which was not so easy in the R15. Initial few days cornering was difficult, sometimes thought i was going to fall, now after getting used to weight difference(R15 and CBR) its simply beautiful. The tyre's are the culprits in the CBR got to get a better set.
Quality wise CBR is better IMO compared to R15.
Now just cant wait to see and ride the new R15 . Hopes its better than the previous in all sections.Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

only if it has 22 bhp which seems impossible fr a sohc engine
frm wat it has right nw it can only come closer to cbr150r

Did you ever imagined before R15 launched that a 150cc engine can produce around 17 bhp? So...no one can say what engineers can do.....it's just a guess/speculation.Originally posted by mid View Postonly if it has 22 bhp which seems impossible fr a sohc engine

For 22 bhp, it requires almost 2500 rpm more, given the same capacity and torque.Originally posted by sayan View PostDid you ever imagined before R15 launched that a 150cc engine can produce around 17 bhp? So...no one can say what engineers can do.....it's just a guess/speculation.
Can they really make the R15 rev-limited to 12000 rpm, while delivering maximum power @ 11,000 rpm? I don't think so. This is even beyond R125's revving. A bit too much for a single cylinder 150cc.
Tuning can't replace displacement. In fact, nothing can.
Although, journos have claimed that it will compete with the CBR, I take them with a pinch of salt. Anyways, I heard that booking costs Rs. 10,000. Let's see what it would be...---

Okay, fine... so I'll just sell off my 220 and get a Splendor..Originally posted by stefanm View PostHow much space you need? The fatties should stick to spendours. It's great that it's a proper 2 seater, maybe it will put off buyers who carry 3-6 people on bikes, which would be fantastic!

But seriously, I don't see what the problem with the seating is....looks just fine to me.. and what difference does it make where the indicators are located?

just take test ride of cbr 250r and u all will get to know that what is real cbr dont live in dreams..
till u havent rode cbr u cudent compare it wid r15 version 2.
and cbr is not there to complete wid r15.
it has its own segment perfomance wise looks,cc,bhp, and price..
so no point of comparing these both bikes..
i am always their if someone wants to test their new r15 wid cbr 250 r.
JUST MY THOUGHT<

Just to add my two cents to this thread.
A stock R15 cant compete with the CBR in a straight line. CBR has an adequate low-end but strong mid-range performance which manages to stay till peak revs. Stock R15 lacks down low but makes up for with good mid-topend performance and superior handling. The only competition to the CBR purely in terms of outright performance (and those that exceed it) are the few souped up Joel'd R15s, maybe some P220s on our forum and stock Ninja.
22 BHP from 150cc and 12000 rev ceiling.
I guess you guys need a bit of reality. Yamaha is not going to go out of their way to please you. You need that much power there are after market solution providers readily available with their list of mods which will even let you rev up to almost 14000 RPM and nearly 30 BHP if that's what it takes to please you.
To add to the speculation from what little I know, the new bike is expected to have been tuned (internally and electronically) for better low end torque and considering the external changes; fatter tyres, possibly a different suspension it may be a detriment to the bike's performance and handling. For those expecting a fast and high revving, powerful 150cc, sharp handling avatar in the new R15 you might be expecting too much. Ofcourse I could be wrong

Anway all those who cribbed about the good looks of the bike or rather lack of it; thin tyres, split seats etc your friendly marketing department at Yamaha have listened to the majority and have probably managed to worsen an excellent out-of-the-box street-track package.Last edited by KwokFist; 08-22-2011, 09:56 PM.--------------------------------

I heard that R15 makes 21ps in overseas markets like Indonesia, if that is true it shouldn't be big deal here to make it 22psOriginally posted by KwokFist View PostJust to add my two cents to this thread.
