Again no personal offence Samarth but I found you theory baseless. I'm not saying you are lying but I cant really believe your statement. If I'm wrong I'd like to be enlightened with some real facts.Originally posted by Samarth 619 View Post

This is all OT we're discussing. Anyways, I have triple checked by rough estimation of the acceleration, and it was notably lesser.Originally posted by Wanted DoA View PostAgain no personal offence Samarth but I found you theory baseless. I also Pm'ed Joel and I'm expecting a reply from him here...

i'm waiting for the new R15... i need to change the rear tyre on my UGIII.
Originally posted by Samarth 619 View PostYou know, I fitted my Pulsar 180 UG3 with R15's tyres and lost some performance. The reason was later found out to be the soft compound tyres which ate some performance due to their stickyness.
same here.
i got the R15 front tyre on my P18OUGIII.
better grip: yes
but the front end "feels" heavier.

sticky tyre = more grip = slower bike
YES you loose "performance" if u're referring to speed, pick-up or acceleration.
NO you don't loose "performance" if u're talking about better grip levels or better braking.
ride a stock UGIII and then ride one with an R15 tyre up front.Originally posted by Wanted DoA View PostThere might be some drop in the top end but that is due to lower profile of R15's tyre. In turn you are gaining on acceleration part.
it'll take you about 3 seconds to realize what he's trying to say.

I NEVER thought In my wildest Dreams I'd actually say this but if the price is so high, "Why shouldn't I buy a CBR??!"

Edit : In indore it is showing 1.15 --totally worth it in that caseLast edited by darkknight; 08-30-2011, 04:44 PM.sigpic

@Samarth_619: I guess you are mistaken here about the current R15 rear tyre bro.
It has been optimized for very less drag resistance, sticky rubber for better grip&for good rollon timings too.
MRF made 6 prototypes before Yamaha could accept the 7th one.
This is one hell of an amazing tyre, that's why all are putting it on other bikes too. But can't say whether it would yield the same effects on them, as the chassis&overall design would be different.
Have a look at the tyre when its off the rim, you will understand why insane cornering angles are supported with precision.
I was very surprised when I purchased the tyres a few days back. The rear one looks wide enough to be a 130 or 140 section, but looks very thin when on the rim, due to the rounded profile.
I'm happy I finally got it though.

I'm 100% sure of what I spoke and I stick with it. I did some testing before saying so and I confirmed it before speaking on Xbhp.Originally posted by Sarvajit View Post@Samarth_619: I guess you are mistaken here about the current R15 rear tyre bro.

Let Joel reply on this, and you will know.
Anyways, let's just discuss the new R15 as this is all OT...---
