    Lets take RTR out of the discussion here. The other guy (who gave this theory) said that he was using softer compound tyre with slightly higher profile i.e. 100/90-17 while the stock one is 100/80-17. Can we dare to know which tyre was he using (I mean brand and make)?

      The stock tyre of the P180 ugIII is 100/90 and it would be MRF I guess, and you know the grip of the stock R15 tyres so installing it on P180 would have increased the drag and decreasing the straight line performance minimally.

        Guys, I would really like to apologise here. I thought Samarth is using some softer than stock tyre on R15.

              Yes, I have sent Vikas a PM, and he can ask me anything on these OT topics... And no, I didn't mind/ report the bubble gum post.

              I request all members to discuss my post (about soft tyres/ emissions) over PM's only.

              Sorry Mods. Just wanted to clear some myths... Thanks hellbreaker46! No more OT's, 6 Sept is not far...

                you replayed to my post......dude..
                even the current R15 will be better than the cbr150r....R15 doesn't need 19bhp to perform better than CB150r.....i was waiting till 6th sept to post something on this thread but situation changed......i think we all just wait for sept 6th and then post some useful information.......(till that date this thread could be used to post informations gathered from the service centers & showrooms)- my opinion

                      people like to think that they'll get more power for peanuts and making all that extra power is just as easy as 1 2 3. i really wish it was. but it is not. but some speculations are just too hard to digest. like 22ps from a sohc 150 cc which currently produces 17 ps just by using some miracle ecu mod. you could have, if we were talking about a diesel. but we are not. as for me, i've stopped educating people. there is absolutely no way you can produce even 19hp from a sohc 150cc engine reliably without some serious internal modifications(dont bring the old cbr 150r to this discussion as it is a dohc oversquare engine). and we are talking about yamaha-india. not bajaj or tvs who constantly refine their engines to produce more power. and their engines have room for improvement. but r15's engine started off as a t135 engine. they improved a lot upon that design and reached its current state as it is seen on the current r15. AFAIK there is little or no room for reliable improvement on that engine without bumping up the CC(from a manufacturer point of view).

                        It seemed to me that he was trying hard to sell off his old stock. To tell you - I would not mind buying the old stock from the dealer if there is a heavy discount post the launch of the R15 v2.
                        That dealer is worst when compared with other Yamaha dealers in Mumbai. He will never say the truth. I would suggest you to avoid that dealer. He will always give you a look that he doesn't know anything. It is impossible to believe that their mechanics got trained on the new Yamaha and they are not aware that new bike is gonna launch. He was clearly bluffing.

                        Should have better low end response with the extra torque at hand+sprocketing changes.
                        Top end should be about the same or maybe slightly higher.
                        Hey buddy any source for this info?

                          Yes, I got a link from a site which said motoroids monthly post, with the Yamaha Motor India website showing R15 v 2.0 specs as it would appear on the website. I immediately opened the Yamaha site, but only found the old R15 specs there.

                          @shrinathrao: Can you clarify?

                              • talked to one of my trusted mechanics at Yamaha Factory Shop at malad. He says, there are almost 100 features that have been added/upgraded in the new version. The top speed would be ~160 and power would be 20-21 bhp.. The price would be around 1.2 L on road..

                                However, the showroom guys at the front office are taking a booking at 2000 rs. and quoting the expected price to be around 1.38 L
