A quick google search gave me these pics of the 2011 YS 250:Originally posted by elangoas View PostPosting this reply after a very long time on Xbhp.
I am guessing the spy pics are of Yamaha's YS 250 which is sold in Brazil is being fitted with FAZER Cowl. The alloys, the silencer, rear look very much similar to the YS 250 sold abroad. The reason that Yamaha alloys look different is to have a distinct look for their 250cc.
So it def must be Yamaha YS 250.

Apart from the rims, nothing else seems to resemble the spy pics of the new R15.
To me, the front bodywork of the new R15 is the same as the current one. The only external difference is in the body parts towards the rear (behind the fuel tank).

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Because no one complained it looked bad, so why change it. People had issues only with the rear. Maybe they want to go one step ahead, for whatever reason (which is what I'm wondering).Originally posted by saj View Postto make it look different from the current R15!! what is there to wonder about

or is it that you are wondering if these new side fairings are also direct fit in the current model!!Originally posted by tibby View PostBecause no one complained it looked bad, so why change it. if i guess, it is done to keep the styling of the bike uniform, so that it gels will with the new rear section and wheels
it is a design thing and designers can tell you more about it

Lol.. Its hardly a visual difference, unless one looks at it closely. I wouldn't want to shell money on this tiny change. Lets see how much the tail section costs, & I might get that done on my bike (if its made available in the old red colour)Originally posted by saj View Postor is it that you are wondering if these new side fairings are also direct fit in the current model!!

I'm sure the newer fairings will be a direct fit, as the the plastic below them are the same, & the allen screws in the spy pic are at the same positions as on the current models.

Some people confirmed that the power will remain the same for the revamped R15, so I wonder what will be the New mileage of the bike with that fatter tyre??
Already it gives around 30kms(max) whichs very less for a 150cc bike, but yes for a bike like this we can compromise on that part. But now I think it will come down atleast by 5 kms with that fat rear tyre..
