Here is the physical comparo of the R15 and the R125. The R125 is a much bigger motocycle in terms of physical size (made for bigger European guys) compared to the R15.

Hope this puts to end the "R125 for India crap" once and for all.

        • may be new R15 will become a more global bike!! since CBR150R is set to be a global bike, Yamaha can provide some competition!!(just a guess)

i am expecting a quality upgrade in this new bike if they intend to take it global with competition to CBR150R.. lets see..

with CBR250R pricing on the higher side Yamaha retains a safe ground now, but also the pricing of CBR250 is said to be tentative!! also with higher pricing, there is room for CBR150R in India now!!

The CBR150R although has a totally different engine and chassis, the bodywork is nearly identical to that of the CBR250R.. which makes it looks almost identical to the CBR250R.. in similar lines as the Pulsar 150/180. If the CBR150R is sold alongside the CBR250R in India, it might take away from the premium'ness/exclusivity of the CBR250R.

Moreover Honda might not think of bringing it to India as it would need a separate production setup.. and currently HMSI can't even meet the demand for its present products (especially the scooters).

r15 is more powerful at 17 bhp while r125 has 14 ps power . r125 is just a lerner's bike in Eu .

                    Thanks for the reply.

Well the chances of a good upgrade in engine capacity for the R15 are less considering the fact that they have to make a hell of R&D for it. While the R125 does has a possibility (according to me).

Well... I donot want to hijack this thread, but there is a difference in figures in theory and practical. Practically, if you see, R125 is more advanced than an R15 and it could do circles around a R15. No offence, neither I intend to prove any product superior, just apiece of information.

How is the R125 superior ? Is it because it is European built ?
R125 - 14.5 bhp and kerb weight of 138 kg
                        R15 - 17 bhp and kerb weight of 131 kg, 7 kgs lighter !
otherwise both bikes have exactly same specs -
deltabox frames, Fi, 17" wheels. there could also be shared parts.
then how is the R125 superior? because it looks big ?
I really think the R15 is faster and better performing than the R125.
my thoughts..anyways both are good bikes.

Look there is a difference in theoritical figures or you can say PAPER figures and riding a bike practically. Ride the 2 bikes (which is not possible being in India) and you will know how R125 is better altogether package than a R15. Circles.. circles... around R15 I really mean those. Although, I am not saying R15 is not good, but yes R125 is more advanced and thrilling.

Answer This: Have you ridden the R125? I'm guessing you have ridden the bike on multiple occasions and in varying terrains and on a track to come to such a conclusion that it's better than the R15.

there is a notable difference between the two CBR's in design. also the paint scheme is very different on the two bikes. i agree to the fact that both these bikes are designed on similar lines but still it is easily distinguishable and very different from each other

about the production setup, i have no clue, but it does not mean honda can't bring it to India. if 250 can come, so can 150. if not today, then may be later sometime when they are ready to produce it.

as of now R15 is enjoying monopoly, and as of now only Honda can give Yamaha a complex!!
