the vents on the new R15 make the front end of the bike appear "sharper".Originally posted by tibby View PostBecause no one complained it looked bad, so why change it. People had issues only with the rear. Maybe they want to go one step ahead, for whatever reason (which is what I'm wondering).
i really like the change.
also... if you look at the design update carefully...Originally posted by tibby View PostI'm sure the newer fairings will be a direct fit, as the the plastic below them are the same, & the allen screws in the spy pic are at the same positions as on the current models.
u'll notice that the outer panels remain the same...
it's the inner side panels that have been redesigned.
(the one's which had the rag catching fire incident)

PIC HOSTED ON TINYPIC
i always thot that hole looked ugly... happy with the update.
so what's ur take on the FZ16 with it's "weaker than R15 engine" and 140 section rear??Originally posted by crazy_NJ View PostSome people confirmed that the power will remain the same for the revamped R15, so I wonder what will be the New mileage of the bike with that fatter tyre??
that's not a very accurate estimation of the FE.Originally posted by crazy_NJ View PostAlready it gives around 30kms(max) whichs very less for a 150cc bike,
40kmpl is more or less what the bike gives..

If there is an engine upgrade/ any big difference then yamaha would have called the mechanics for the training rite? so i think its only a facelifted one. The showroom guys are also confident on this part.Originally posted by chicane1879 View PostThe more i gaze at those scoop pics i feel it's a 250cc Yamaha in the pipeline!!

Anyways am also fingers crossed

I don't know why we are again discussing on this being a bigger bike
because it has already been confirmed that this is indeed the new R-15 from Yamaha back office. Lets wait till this month end...
But I really hope that someday Yamaha will bring in a 250 based on R-1 just like it did with R-15

an r25 is sort of an impossibility at least in the near future. if it comes it should come with twin cylinders. i simply want it to kick ninjas as*.it could turn out to be the best 250 in the world.Originally posted by shadabk01 View PostI don't know why we are again discussing on this being a bigger bike

Wondering why Yamaha is not thinking on those lines, it can give a tough compition to both Kawa and Honda
Anyways coming back to topic, does anyone have any latest update about the R-15 RVR??

The 250cc sport bike market is a huge one internationally and now that Honda has made a new effort to address it.It is very likely that Yamaha will take the same route in the near future and then we can expect the same Asian production strategy too as Yamaha is seriously thinking of numbers these days.
For now, i think the bike in question isn't that bike.Knowing yamaha though ,it's likely that their R25 will be a twin like the Ninja.Life begins, once you hit the power band !!

Agreed, R series has been dominating in it's segment and to keep the legacy going, R25 has to be powerful.Originally posted by gixxer_junkie_m View PostThe 250cc sport bike market is a huge one internationally and now that Honda has made a new effort to address it.It is very likely that Yamaha will take the same route in the near future and then we can expect the same Asian production strategy too as Yamaha is seriously thinking of numbers these days.

Uh, to all those who are thinking the new r15 has a a ys250 spec, you're wrong. The ys 250 has a air cooled engine. So it's plain bulls**t if they put this engine into the R15 clothing
