    • now thats a royal upgrade done by Yamaha. I had been contemplating getting a bigger bike for some time now (I ride a 06 Gladiator) and didnt want to shift bases from Yamaha. It looks like i dont have to do it now. Next thing is to visit Yamaha Plaza in Infantry road and get a sweet exchange deal.

      Now coming to the pic:

1> i dont see any naked R15 (or 25?) in the ramp. I checked **********.in 15 mins back though. was it a diff pic before? Could anyone post the uncut original pic plzzz??
2> Is the black bike in the background a diff one? (height/ size of petrol tank seems different). it looks beefy.
3> has the handle height been increased/ seat height decreased? (I see a comfortable seating geometry compared to the crouched position in the existing model)

      Responses please fellas!!

      Abhishek

EDIT: Googled and saw the full pic.

      • What's all this over excitement? If this is (which it most probably is) the revamped R15, then it will be the same engine, same hp, same chassis. Don't trust a journalist, they are in the same league as politicians, lawyers and cops!

Only minor cosmetic changes are there and as far as I can see, all the panels should fit the previous versions of the R15. Front fairing is longer with vent slots, new rims, tyre hugger, split rear seat and panels to match, looks like a 120 section rear, probably on a 70 profile or possibly lower, can't see much else there.

The only upgrade really worth it for us owners of the older bike, seems to be the split rear seat (this flicks my switch), possibly the rear tyre if it will give the same performance as the older one, then these are only cosmetic things.
Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

Looks like a bit relaxed riding position.

Crouched position? existing one is not so crouched to be honest, I sat on a Hyosung 650gt today and it was definatly a much more sporting posture than the R15. Remember that the R15 is still a learner bike, although with our random road conditions we have a higher regard for this segment.

yea putting seat cowl is fine...But IMHO most of those (in India) who buy bikes around 1-1.5 lacs will not buy for a solo ride.. i mean they will be having a pillion most of the time..
i think its not an easy task in sports bikes as well...

With pillion, handling will be affected in any bike regardless of seat height..

                    • both the black and the red one are the same..from the look of it.whats written on the fairing doesn't look like R15.rear tyre looks like 120 section.
and is the exhaust a lil more inclined than the older version??

                      • Its definitely a r25.
And i dont think yamaha will make a 250 cc 22bhp bike. I'm guessing it will be like ~30 bhp for 2.5 lacs
Because yamaha is capable of producing 30bhp from a 250cc and since they manufacture the entire thing in india, 2.5 is reasonable

                        • Even if the bike produces anywhere between 25-30 bhp, its gonna make d hondas n kawas run for their money considering its lesser weight compared to d other 2 contenders..
A crash on d road may kill d biker n d bike, but d relationship btwn d bike n d biker never dies.

Its only next to d relationship btwn d mother n her baby.

I doubt. This will only bring this new bike in Ninja price and market league and hence clearing the way for CBR even more. the strategy should be an affordable quarter litre (like Honda is tapping on) and not limited for few like N250R. ofcourse all this if its really a 250.

and moreover, the person who provide this photo at the first place claims 22 bhp himself so I am going to believe that for now.

In Indian market people buy bikes for commuting purpose.....unlike US and Europe where people use cars for commute and bikes just to enjoy.....so i think people who would shell 1-1.5l for a bike would be just for the ride and not commute!!!
