Yes the new R wateva looks really badass.I know i have already said it before but it feels really good to say it again...badass.Also if it really was a R25 then why is the current R15 not available ??.It all leads me to believe that it is going to be a tweaked 150cc rather than a 250cc mill.

Apologies for having used the word "UGLY" but when he used that smiley(frown) + the word "bad" in english means just BAD, no misinterpretations there. What you said might just be the thing he meant but it did not come out right from his part.Originally posted by shadabk01 View Post

They MUST be added for Indian market. Its a GOI rule.Originally posted by Frantic View PostNo RVM's on both bikes???
22bhp juice extracting from 150cc cabin is not impossible, but it causes a lot of stress on the engine. It cant be a 150cc mill for sure.Originally posted by Naveen1985 View Posti think power will be 18-19 bhp max....
i dont think they can extract more juice from existing 150cc engine with keeping emission norms in mind...
they can produce couple of bhps more in countries like thailand, australia where emission norms are a bit relaxed in comparison to india...
Any company would choose to upgrade the mill itself if the dimensions of the vehicles change. If Yamaha plans to launch a revamped R15, it will have to name it New R15 for the documents. The registration process is equally difficult as its for new machines. So why not a new mill is what yamaha will think of!Originally posted by stefanm View PostWhat's all this over excitement? If this is (which it most probably is) the revamped R15, then it will be the same engine, same hp, same chassis. Don't trust a journalist, they are in the same league as politicians, lawyers and cops!
Only minor cosmetic changes are there and as far as I can see, all the panels should fit the previous versions of the R15. Front fairing is longer with vent slots, new rims, tyre hugger, split rear seat and panels to match, looks like a 120 section rear, probably on a 70 profile or possibly lower, can't see much else there.
The only upgrade really worth it for us owners of the older bike, seems to be the split rear seat (this flicks my switch), possibly the rear tyre if it will give the same performance as the older one, then these are only cosmetic things.
+1.Originally posted by shadabk01 View PostI think we are misinterpreting the guy who said this, he never used the word "UGLY" and his comments were on the positive side.
This is what he exactly said: "BTW Did you guys see the new R15 pics?
New R15 looks bad
"
By the way what I have observed is that everyone is quite appreciative about the new R15 whether they have booked/bought the CBR or any other bike so this seems to be a winner in Yamaha's stable, just need to know when it is going to be launched.
P.S: The sad smiley in the comment says it all :-)
CBR might have grabbed international market. But for Indian market, i have seen people commenting it to be an Alien. I agree i personally find the looks to be a little weird but, not so much that i can call it an 'Alien'
Yamaha always releases the bikes at killer timeOriginally posted by Nithesh View PostHOly Cow!
That is exactly what we all wanted to see when they launched the R15 back in 08
Now this kinda puts me in a huge dilemma!
CBR250R or this one
Judging by the pics its still the 150cc mil but damn this thing looks much better
. It was Pulsar 220Fi then. And now its CBR 250! But one good thing about Yamaha is they dont take the bookings way earlier just like the Hondas did. If Honda weren't capable of delivering vehicles at such a fast rate, why did they have to initiate bookings with TV commercials? They had no other new bike in 200cc+ segment which was a hot cake.
Even i tried to magnify the image and see. Only R part is clear. The rest is blurred
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, "Wow! What a Ride!"

Awesome is the word.. I bet the new R15/17/25 would look much more a sexier in reality. Pics wont do as much justice. Nevertheless, the bike looks stunning in pics as well
Yamaha shouldn't delay the launch beyond monsoons IMO. I'm really happy for those waiting in line for their CBR250's.. Now they do have a choice when spending approx 1.5 lacs in india on a bike.
PS: @MG/MODS
I know the pics have circulated all around the net but most of the well renowned bike sites have cropped the poor guy's head just for the sake of it & avoid any further damage to him. It wouldn't hurt if the same is done here on xbhp as well.
PS: The pic of just the bike (minus the guy's face) looks much more hotter IMO

I had been waiting for it since december last year...
I bought existing R-15 [Blue] on 17th May 2011 [This thread was locked already as no concrete info available] and now just in a week time, I see this pic...
Now, I'm so
.
PS: Would Yamaha Take my R-15 and replace it with the new one (in case its Revamped R-15)
The Bike is not registered yet

I had already commented upon the picture that is doing round and i can bet the black bike in the background looks kinda more beefy than the one in foreground, because visually the tank size and its height gives it some character.
If Yamaha Motors India, is reading this, here is my free piece of advice (I had similarly given it to HMSI too):
1>A meatier tank would make this bike even more beautiful with the R6 inspired tail end.
2>A well stocked merchandise section (branded jackets, helmets, gloves, riding boots with prominent monograms) in all leading showrooms across important cities would be great.
3>Pay attention and importance to existing Yamy customers and urge/ lure them to upgrade their existing bikes to this. Thrown in attractive rates!
4>Get JA to visit selected showrooms across metros/cities and do the PR for the events.
I can vouch, IYM would see stronger brand perception. Give me some royalty if it works out.

Putting an end to Speculations...
Well for most of the ppl speculating the new yammie as R25 let me put an end to d discussion over it as well as the 22bhp engine rumor...
This is d same R15 engine ( re tuned ) for better torque the chasis has been redesigned to fit a broader tyre & a new swing arm though the changes r cosmetic .... this is an adaption of the older bike ... as per inputs form indian consumers yammie has incorporated these changes... the r6 lookin R15
Sources - Highly Reliable Yammie employee...
for the launch date its my guess it should be on 14th June 2011 as ..back in 2008 it was d same date wen Yamaha formally launched the R15
thnx ...sorry to disappoint many ppl who thought its a 250.sigpic

Yamy is certainly not a company to hastily thrown in a quarter litre bike, in the face of competition and peer pressure from HMSI. My guess, they might get one in the next 4-6 months after the CBR hype comes down. In the mean time, they have very successfully gotten a chunk of blind CBR followers to hold on! which , I say is commendable.Ride safe..wear helmet.

Maybe people are right about the r15 getting a facelift.. but my sources deny that so far.. and I believe that the bike is an R125 which yamaha is going to launch for sure after the success of R15 the specs are here: 2011 Yamaha YZF-R125 specifications and picturesOriginally posted by the_mechanic View PostWell for most of the ppl speculating the new yammie as R25 let me put an end to d discussion over it as well as the 22bhp engine rumor...
