for the launch date its my guess it should be on 14th June 2011 as ..back in 2008 it was d same date wen Yamaha formally launched the R15

thnx ...sorry to disappoint many ppl who thought its a 250.
Thanks for the info bro. My personal opinion was that it should be R15 & not an R25.
    The reasons
    1. Rising Petrol Price. More the CC, Less the Mileage.
    2. Cant really take advantage of higher CC in City like Mumbai, obviously because of traffic & bad roads.
    3. Price Tag.

I am really happy about the new R15

    • Is there DRL fitted in the new R15? Also, my unattended question:

Doesnt it look, this bike has a slightly relaxed sitting posture (may be due to raised handle/ lowered seat height)

totally agree.. a 150cc engine is more than adequate for Indians specially considering our Traffic conditions and rising fuel prices. We cant use power of 250cc in our city driving and an R15 with this look is surely gonna end CBR.

If it's the same R15 as before with slightly fiddled torque numbers then it cannot just end the Ceeber. For tourers/wanderers the CBR will be a preferred choice..

Yes,for anyone upgrading from Apache/Pulsars/Hunk et al it will be a hot choice. And for those, who are fairing-obsessed this will attract them like moths to light. It's a wonderful piece to look at.
If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!

yeah for sure because R15 is a true racing machine while CBR is developed for touring. For guys like me who feel adrenaline rush and racing DNA will definitely go for R15 even if its 150cc because the feel it gives you while riding cannot be matched with ZMR, P220 or CBR.

                • The bike looks fabulous and worthy of a visual upgrade for existing R15 owners. I personally think the tail is a bit higher than it should have been.

Sarvajit & I were discussing the bike in the pictures a while back, & this is what we jointly feel:
                  1. The bike is a redesigned R15 (i.e., the engine in unchanged)
                  2. Redesigned but replaceable parts - tail-piece, swingarm, alloys, fairing.
                  3. New parts (never on old bike) - rear tyre hugger
                  4. remapped ECU for better bottom-end

This is what I feel (Sarvajit differs on this):
                  1. Unchanged exhaust, with a new heat shield

No pics of the bike front-on, so can't comment on that.

                  Personally, I:
                  >> am expecting better reflectors in the HL assembly.
                  >> think the bike will be launched on 15-June to mark 3 yrs since the R15 was launched at the MMSC track for the Press.
                  >> think this pic was intentionally leaked by Yamaha (they would have the brains to disallow phones/photographic devices into sensitive/important areas like the one in the pic)

Now all I want to do is go to sleep (not coma ), & wake up on 15-June, in India.

                  My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Every bike is different and feels different. Also, lets not get more into it,you have already blamed 3 of the powerful bikes in Indian market today.Stay away and hide, the owners might come hunting down for you as to why you think these are not adrenaline-junkie..

And can't comment about any other bike but P220's power on-straights is adrenaline pumping for sure.More than the R15 I'd say.Albeit,in the corners it's just the opposite..

                            • Finally, this R15 looks like a Real Yamaha Bike.
Wish they launch some 250cc bike soon.

                              • i was thinking of getting my current r15 'joel'ed. but now, i'm confused...
i just hope it has got good projectors... n yes, it shud b switchable to d current r15's.
A crash on d road may kill d biker n d bike, but d relationship btwn d bike n d biker never dies.

Its only next to d relationship btwn d mother n her baby.
