      • Posting this reply after a very long time on Xbhp.

I am guessing the spy pics are of Yamaha's YS 250 which is sold in Brazil is being fitted with FAZER Cowl. The alloys, the silencer, rear look very much similar to the YS 250 sold abroad. The reason that Yamaha alloys look different is to have a distinct look for their 250cc.

So it def must be Yamaha YS 250.

But that engine is a 250cc Single block 2 valve right?

Yes. I don't think they would have done any mods to the engine. But they might tweak it to bump up the power a little more. They might price it in the range of 1 L on Road or even less i guess. So ppl who can afford budget upto 1L will def get this piece of machine. Juz straight & Simple. No Frills bike.

this means the person at the showroom agreed to a new launch.. and did he say that you'll get the new bike..?? or what exactly did he say..??
If that is the case, then i'll also go and book "the r15" tomorrow..
Ya he said there's definitely a new R15 and hopefully will be lauched this month end itself... no further info available for him... he also said it will be priced 2000Rs for the new model... shsss, dont believe him, coz we can see how much price did they charged for Fazer for the new fairings...
I told him to book me the new R15, if the price is justifed(for me) i will buy the new model(if present) else current one iteslf...

while the mag wheels do resemble the ones on the YS250 the exhaust and rear are completely different.

the rest of the bike looks exactly like an R15... and it most certainly is.

                • @binoy me too stuck in the same dilemma. booked mine in nov but i told them to pass on my bike to next customer to wait for the new. but even before all the spy pics came here. at hilton they told me the 'production's goin down so most defnitly there must be a new one soon', i've posted the question in ownership thred then.
if not much of a change then i mite just go for a minor used R15 and spend the rest in all of joel's. anyway i've decided to wait.

                  • Yeah you are right. It indeed looks like the R15 from the above pic.

I meant the YS 250 would be a no frills bike for its features if offered in India if it has the same features as Brazil market.
