  • I dont know why some people always have negative opinion about the pulsar really cant change such people.

    As per my experince the pulsars i owned from the past till today didnt had any problems i sold my previous pulsars only because of my craze and love towards the pulsar series.

    My 1st pulsar was p180 i just used it for a year clocked 17k kms on it and sold off after launching of p220 DTSFI.[Not even a single problem in 1 year used it in a very harsh and rough manner]

    My next pulsar was 220dtsfi its really a great pulsar it has got crispy throttle response,great lamps & many more goodies used it for 2 years clocked 25k kms on it[ no problems just periodic changing of parts like coneset,clutch plates etc the chain&sprockets was in a good condition even at 25k kms when i sold it] and sold off after i test rode my friends 220 dtsi & started loving it to the core.

    & finally bought the new 220 dtsi it has got major improvements in the handling and powerdelivery over the FI version the dtsi doesnt feels thristy as fi at higher rpms once you cross 6k rpm it just zooms like a small rocket.Completed 6.7k kms in the 6 months didn't faced any problems till now except the fairing vibs and sound thats it.
    The pulsar needs improvements in the areas of ENGINE REFINEMENT,VIBS,PAINT QUALITY & LASTLY THE WORST SERVICE CENTERS.

    • am not a fan and never driven pulsar bikes.....and this is my take

      Being it as pulsar or any bike or car or whatever the consumable it may be,

      as manufacturer they have done enough justices
       Keep doing R & D and providing a better product
       Provide warranty and stand by that
       Provided free service for at least two years
       Replacing certain core costly parts at free of cost if it fails due to manufacturing defect or not due to your fault during the two years period.
       And more importantly did provided a product manual on how to use the bike, and how to maintain it and what should void the warranty

      Beloved brother what else you are expecting from a bike manufacturer

      With all this support your bike just needs good care from your end

      Will you jump out of window from 3rd floor, no right similarly as a commuter you are aware of the infrastructure at your locality and drive sensibly, if not handled wisely not only your bike the soft shock absorbers in in your body will take a beating sooner.

        CDI units were changed U/W in the bikes which belonged to the first batch and mine was from the first batch !
        P220's of first batch were recalled and CDI units were replaced U/W. Those who dint bring the bikes for CDI issues got their units replaced in there next services.

        3: everytime he hit the highways his sensors start shortcircutting due to odd placement
        The sensor's in 220 DTSI are placed in such a manner that water very easily goes inside it and short circuit happens which results in constant blinking on the speedo. Not only me but there are P220ian TOURERS (Dtsi) all over the country who did face this issue.

        Anyways the thing is i am in love with my 220 it brings a smile on my face everytime i ride and has never ever ditched even in tough riding conditions. And thats more important to me.

        4: his handlebar screw broke twice
        He must not be taking care where he parks his bike and must be locking his handle when he parks. This happens usually when you park your bike and people drag your bike around by pulling the handles to make space for other
        vehicles. I always park my bike with decorum and keep my handle unlocked.
        It got broken during my last ride to Leh although i got it fixed somehow !
        But these minor niggles are definitely disappointing !
        P.S : I have a proper parking space in my house , Second the parking in which i park has ample of space and nobody touches the bike once its parked !
        and yeah i dont wrestle with my bikes handle or practice stunts on it !

        Again, why? Not too many people have complained on this one.
        Check this thing with the First batch owners of P-220 Dtsi then you will definitely get to know how many people faced CDI unit issue ! Although later company recalled 220's and replaced the CDI unit U/W.

        His bike has highway phobia? I don't understand what the short circuit is about.

          1. stop talking abt pulsers .. i have first batch Platina 100, now its almost 5 years .. and it never given problem .. not even changed any parts yet.. except indicators which went puff... in just 2 days of delivery of my bike ..
          like it or not .. bajaj have some quality .. there is no denying it. .. u must be amazed that the paint quality of my platina ..is 10 times better than my current R15.

          2. There are prob with Bajaj bikes also that also we should take notice... @smoker ..why he found so many prob??? - coz it seems he is hard core tourer and probly .. his riding involves much of the environment where it might be dusty/worst_roads/riding_style... other bikes might also have such prob.. u will know those wn u ride it hard. [statical_assumption based]

            In your case there seems to be a weird lemon... The reason I say that is that I had a first batch DTSI 180 and own a first batch (or maybe the second batch) 220... My 220 headlight assembly has been changed only once and that too because I smashed it into an oncoming cabbie...

            Maybe mine was the second batch then. I never had a problem with the CDI

            I have had enough trips on the highway.. Maybe just the western express uptill Vasai... But a highway no doubt... I never park under a shade even in the rains... Nor have I ever put any type of plastic covers on my bike... And still no such problems... Yes the speed sensor at the wheel conks off now and then.... But no major hassles with the speedo...

            Anyways the thing is i am in love with my 220 it brings a smile on my face everytime i ride and has never ever ditched even in tough riding conditions. And thats more important to me.
            Thats what pulsars are about... Bringing a smile on your face everytime ou wring that wrist... And yea these niggles are disappointing and annoying... Not to mention they detract from the experience of owning the motorcycle... But you also have to give credit where its due... They are improving with every iteration of their bikes... They do improve even if no one is complaining... And they don't try to eye wash us with calling a stickering job an "all new pulsar"... Every upgrade is substantial...

            My handle has broken too.. But thats mainly because retards in my society and near my office think it is their pops bike and drag my bike around... That is the main reason for it...
