    I [like] that!

I have done some very expensive braking in past on my 220. And later I learned how not to brake and hit and run over a dog at speeds in excess of 100.

I heard they don't have RnD here in Pune only production.
Anyway they are ashamed of putting Brembo on such low cc bikes. It could hurt reputation of the company, that's how they came up with different name: By Brembo.

I completely agree. It's better you run over at that speed. I'm scared of small children, who play along the road and oldies, who don't know how to get across the road and blame younger generation for everything.

yeah not to mention dogs, my friend had hit a dog couple of weeks ago with his tvs victor. He was going out that day for a function i guess and was dressed up good.I saw him ride by my house wearing his flashy clothes and his stylish sunglasses and also saw him just taking the next turn. After that i just heard a sound. At that very second i understood he had tested the soil...A minute or two later i saw him all dirty with dirt and mud in his white shirt. and his bike all banged up.When i asked him about what happened he said that he got hit by a dog who surprised him from the upcoming street left of him.although he braked but he lost control. He said even after hitting the dog (though at 10-15 kmph) nothing happened to the dog.He said it just lifted itself up and just gave him a brief look for a second and ran away...

AFAIK There are at least 3 major limitation of drum brakes. One, they can easily lock the wheel on case of less traction (Meaning they are not precise). Two, They constantly need adjustments. Well that's not bad thing in developed countries where people know their stuff. But in our country most of the folks are scared of fiddling with anything. Three, tail/brake light has to be to sync with brakes when we adjust them. Nobody does that, I mean even cars run without brake lights.
That's why people better off with disk brakes.

Here's an event where disc brakes really helped me avoiding a collision. http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...tml#post585217
sad to hear that incident man.i always admire disk brakes at front it is a necessity nowadays i was only asking why both on a relatively low capacity low performance bike.but now after reading all this i think i now know why.now enough about the brakes any guess on the chassis set up on the spy pic.will it be also like the BS motoring's rendered sketch posted a few pages back -a beam frame ? i am trying my level best to extract maximum details from the latest spy pics as possible by adjusting the contrast brightness and colour and bring as much details as i can find out.i am as of now still on it and by the way, what do you guys think of the new center stand set up ? does any one have any thing to share after looking at the latest spy pics ?

This sentence made me aware that you are from Kerala. I have landed on NH 47 and rolled 4 times and escaped with slight wound on the knee and 15k work for my bike and 8L fuel lost. Dog made no sound not even a cry, surrendered to death on the spot.

Wondering how the stand just under the exhaust muffler would behave. on a bumpy ride any chance of it drumming against the exhaust? I know there would be a rubber damper/spring kinda arrangement to prevent this. The modern (read the latest entrants) come without a center stand. So why on this?

                • Few years back, I was riding a decade old scooter and ran over a stray dog. I didn't do any panic braking as it didn't have brakes of worth doing that sorta. I simply continued riding pretending nothing happened, dog, on the other hand was severely injured. I ran over and ran away. Foolish to do so.
Same thing I couldn't do when a small mental kid came purposefully in front of my bike (kkrish, shaktiman effect) out of nowhere. I can't recall exactly but in order to save him I kinda crashed my bike. I landed on left shoulder. 1.2k Rs went into bike. And I got 4 life long scars. The kid was impressed with himself for what he has done and moved to next oncoming bike.

@Dman, I don't have idea about frame anatomy so can't help. Sometimes I think of sitting infront of bajaj gate with a cam or chase those testers day long. My friend see them everyday but he's not bothered with going into specifics.

Been there done that, was riding doubles at the time, when I jammed he front, the wheel locked and was just about to skid, when I downshifted, released the brakes and WOT. The front wheel popped and the dog went under the bike. Poor thing, passed away on the spot, since combined wieght of pillions itself was 180Kgs.

chances of the center stand hitting the exhaust seem possible but only a very slim chance. There will be rubber dampers beyond a certain level as in every other bikes As per my observation the exhaust seem to have been placed cleverly between the two legs of the center stand unit which itself has gone under a complete remodeling also.Besides that it seem to have been placed and mounted higher also. what i am saying is that will the center stand create same problem when hard cornering...grinding down on the road? And there is a good reason why bajaj might be fixing center stand as the pulsar is a pure fun and practical machine built especially as a road bike and not like some of other new machines which also seem to be built for the track too Some of the modern entrants like the super sports r15 v2 are so focused that it doesn't even have a rear grab rail.

I think there is something like speed limit on roads. For races there are tracks not streets.

guys enough with the dog already get back... the possibility of the new pulsar being a p135 has been ruled out i guess...As they silently rolled out the 2012 pulsar 135 LS with only minor cosmetic changes with the p135 also getting the speed lines treatment. Along with this they have also introduced a new blue colour shade for the p135LS also. And yes though i fear if this will further delay the next generation pulsar's launch even further, i must say the p135 LS sure is looking great in blue with all those speed lines. The only thing i worried now is that is this what Rajiv bajaj had meant with the supposed December launch..?Does this mean the wait for the new pulsie is gonna go even longer ? I saw the news just this afternoon posted by SP(satadal payeng)bro..in his 2wheelsindia.com.
