TVS Motor Company unveils new 2012 TVS Apache Series
Honestly my reliable source also told me the same story 4 years back. I wont believe anything from TVS till I see that in flesh (just my opinion)
i agree with your disappointment. but yes, having been in touch with some suppliers and R&D people I always knew there was no 200+ brewing in the TVS kitchen. so always stayed away from the speculative threads. not this time though.

considering that they have not released anything new in the market since the 180 ABS 2 years ago, it was high time to upgrade to something 200+
now people like me, who are interested in moving up the CC ladder but wanting to stay with Apache, have to look elsewhere.
i personally hate the new side profile. the Scarily fast bike looks Scarily similar to the pulsar series , atleast when viewed from the side...
Yesterday I saw one 2012 RTR 160 in taxi color(black+yellow) in flesh on pune roads. Was looking very ugly & disproportionate. RTR has really lost its character.
Don't know if this is the right thread. But a very accurate source has indicated that TVS is developing a brand new 200~250cc apache. very very early stages though.
How do i know this? - Well they are currently developing an all new aluminium swingarm possibly with a monoshock. Why aluminium? for lesser flex and weight while cornering.
And what are the reference bikes? - CBR 250, KTM duke and the venerable R15v2.0.
All this says that the current facelift was to buy them some time.
cheers!
based on recent reports TVS will be launching only 125 cc and a 115 cc bike this year...
Since they have already made the RTR250fx,400fx and450fx for the track Is there any chance of them trying to quickly bring a street homologated version of the 250fx engine in an apache in the coming months???considering that the new upgraded 2012 series didn't go down that well with bikers(TVS was definitely expecting people to go gaga over their new series RTR considering the overconfidence of their marketing campaign).
RIP apache with pulsar 200 launched at throw away prices apache sales will get hit a LOT. Hope the rumors are true and apache 250 will hit the streets soon

Are you promoting Bajaj on the TVS thread. Many owners including me will take it as brand bashing. There are others threads for these things, don't make this thread a place for brand war

@prateek even I own an RTR 180.I would have blindly suggested anyone to go for the ABS version about one year ago when it was still below 90K.But today, for someone else who wants to spend close to 90K for the RTR 180 ABS,I would rather ask them to put their money to use for a better vehicle at a slight extra cost. I am in no way claiming that the brand Bajaj is better but I am stating a fact that the RTR180 abs is no more the same attractive proposition it used to be about two weeks ago when the p200ns's pricing was not revealed. Now the P200ns is pegged at 94K and the RTR180 abs is priced at 90K.Now apart from the excellent ABS system the RTR has no other advantage (Atleast on paper).
