Back in 2008 when Yamaha showed its R15 and FZ.. the sentiment at xBhp for Bajaj and Pulsars was at an all time low. Back then many were "Fed Up" with the Pulsar tank and also the Pulsar name (good thing BAL didn't pay heed and did not scrape the Pulsar brand)..!!
Looks like the goodwill for Bajaj/Pulsar has returned in 2012.

Welcome back satya sir... Bade dino k baad...
yeah, and not only the tank but overall design change is revolutionary in pulsar family... but still many are not so happy (you can check the reviews as well) as it has lost it's characteristic musculer look, which was one the prime reason to give pulsar a 'definitly male' tagline and increase it's popularity...Last edited by Rahul.Gvli; 05-09-2012, 10:37 AM.Originality is the art of hiding your sources...

The current P180, original P200 and the short lived P220S (bikini faied variant) is one of the most beautiful and proportionate motorcycle design in the world.. and it includes the signature Pulsar tank (which I still love) as well..!!
I hope this shape is continued as it is a classic and evergreen design.

+1, add current P150 to the list, on top of good performance, they got very attractive design, which contributed to sales numbers. But, I think classic pulsar was also very good looking, I mean it had a butch kind of look going for it. If Bajaj were to release a classic edition now with alloys, discs & HIDs.. it would look very different & hot.Originally posted by payeng View PostThe current P180, original P200 and the short lived P220S (bikini faied variant) is one of the most beautiful and proportionate motorcycle design in the world.. and it includes the signature Pulsar tank (which I still love) as well..!!

. Okay that was pun intended. But taking on the "world" is stretching fanboism, me think.
Trying to address the taste and expectation of fans and critics is always plagued with perils for any designers/manufacturers. Not a Pulsar fan, though I would say, Bajaj did a damn good job with the new pulsar. It definitely look different from old pulsar, but there is a distinct 'Pulsar' to it. At least as far as I can see. There will be truth towards critical view as well. But at the end of the day. When the old and new stands side-by-side. I can be certain, The P200ns will get all the attention. Not just because it is newer. But it is undisguisedly more++ striking in every department.
Last but not least...finally...and finally, Bajaj got rid of that potato-tank.

OK guys, lets not start bashing Bajaj here.
I am currently in China and I can easily vouch for Bajaj. In sub 250cc segments the Chinese homegrown bikes are nowhere near to our P220. They top out at just 120 kmph. Also the build quality is shoddy. Our Pulsars will rip them apart.
Now in the Bajaj-KTM era, the P200NS is simply next level! I have experienced the rush of the new Pulsar [don't ask me how] It takes the word ripping to a new level! I am guessing the KTM genes will hold the engine together for many years. And keep it running smooth. The 200NS just doesn't like to stay still.
And with the news of these future KTM-Bajajs, it will be a rip-fest!
I just worry about the new inexperienced riders taking on the new Pulsars!
Ride safe!

The KTM-Bajaj joint ventures is probably one of the best deals ever made in the Indian two wheeler segment, i see that it is going to long last under the leadership of intelligent Bajaj family, this venture has taken biking to the next level and our Indian customers are being extremely benefited by local made high tech bikes.Apache 180
