I was really waiting for this Bike as i am bored riding my pulsar 220 dtsi (and it's flaws). And being marketed by Bajaj, it already has me thinking what noise that fairing would produce after 6 months. (Fairing Noise on my P220 persists till date - 5 years now)

After all my wait, the design has got me off. It's unique and sharp but it does not appeal my liking. I will still wait to see this bike in person and then probably take a decision.

I hope this bike comes with the same goodies, if not the same power of the 390.

Saw the RC 390 testing in pune on Saturday afternoon near the expressway, looked amazing and by the way the person was riding the aggressiveness of the duke 390 has been changed to the subtle sportiness. the seat looked more comfortable then the DUKE.

and true, the headlight looks stupid, kind of destroys the whole front look.

seeing the increased frequency of the testing, looks like the launch is very close....

was it compact? how was the seating position? how was the sound? so many questions in my mind!
please bajaj make the mechanicals reliable at least. pleasee

it was really compact, more sleek than the CBR but, the seating position was more like the R15. i saw a pillion with him and tht was not comfortable.

the sound was something that felt out of place like the headlight, but it still looked amazing... it is one of those bikes which will be eye catching and also fun to ride....

n i thought it was even more forward leaned? i dont want ktm to dilute the supersport riding position.
imo thats one of the biggest usp of this bike in this segment!
on a sidenote heard akra slip on cans n even gpr cans on 390. it does turn the bike's sound up.

I doubt though how much will the bike be comfortable for commuting

I think he gave R15's example to tell that the riding position was more on the aggressive side than on the commuter side. I don't think there's any need to worry

I think the riding position compared to R15 will be like this(Height 5'10").

Taken from RC125 video. Pretty aggressive.

I wouldn't even think of using this as a commuter in bumper to bumper traffic. The D390 is already a PITA to ride in bumper to bumper traffic due to poor low end torque and jerkiness and also the heat. This one adds aggressive riding position to make things worse. But for those who commute on free roads and highways, or even better, twisties, this one will be a boon.

are you guys following the duke thread? just now a guy with shattered rims- both of them. m so scared to buy the rc even though im in love with it. a huge sigh!
somebody show the thread to bajaj. even my 220 was more reliable.

Saw that now. That scared the heck out of me. I'm in the same boat as you. I'm gonna watch the RC till one year after the launch. If it continues with issues, I'll look at something else. I don't think any vehicle launched in India in the past 2 decades(or ever) was this crappy in terms of quality.

Yami, launch the R3 or whatever it is quickly please.

for me i thought this should be it and cant wait more than 8 month from today. i needed a sportbike to make my weekends. but then god knows whats gonna happen. cant we all irritate bajaj on this?

Guys, don't panic. Read the whole thread. They say it's a safety feature like a crumple zone in cars. Its supposed to protect the rider in case of a severe impact.

would u please elaborate on these?

besides the wheels getting damaged on the go means instant fall.

There's a discussion going on on the same topic in a team-bhp thread. I'm sorry, I confused it with the xbhp thread. In that, they are saying a similar incident had happened to an R15 just after its launch. Google it, you'll find it.

With due respect, the incidents i have read, none of them showed this as a crumple zone, in fact, other than head on collisions, the alloys must not break whatsoever
