With the taxes reduced by 4 percent are we looking at a price cut of RC390 when lauched as in a lower price tag than speculated?

I was expecting the mods to update the news of KTM planning to introduce 390 adventure here in India. Would have loved to read fellow member's take on that exciting piece of machine.

Though we still have time for the Bike to arrive, I was just imagining if we could modify the headlights a bit (It would be heaven if they looked somewhat like the rc8!). I got this pic on the net which seems like a modification (or maybe a very good rendition) .... but what do you guys think? how feasible would such a mod be? I would be interested if it could be done under 15-20K or so

(and not casue problems in the bike)

Also read on the internet that some customers in Mumbai got a ride of the RC390 for pilot testing! .

. It was Nitrosatya who started it by removing all the decals from the race spec version showcased. I later on edited his pic and added the details.

Forgot to mention; RC updates:

The RC 200 is already under test on roads. Keep your eyes open. You might spot it. The RC 390 might come to dealerships till Diwali. The exhaust note is supposed to better than the Duke. Better in the sense, more refined. People who have seen the production version are completely blown away by the bike. My sources say that the bike looks very Batman-stealth kind.Though it is not as big and wide like the CBR 250R. When the bike is approaching you on the road, it looks super sci-fi stealth machine. Reminded my source of a B2 bomber. The plain panels are balanced by the trellis frame. In the night it looks even sinister.

And finally the 390 goes like a rocket!

I am very keen to have a look at the real bike .... damn...why dont I have "sources" to get to see tue bike ... lol ....

I wonder if it is OT - but what are your opinions on pulsar ss400??

Why I asked opinions on ss400 was because I have been smitten by the idea of owning the rc390 so much that I subconsciously ridiculed the ss400 in my mind even without having a proper look .... made me think if I should be more rational and give ss400 a chance.... because assuming both bikes are similar (should get the tyres/abs and have a superbikish rider stance and cornering ability) I might just be better off with the better looking ss400! A little less horses on paper might not make a difference in riding expericnce ...I have no fetish to win all races against a rc390 or owning the "ktm brand" if the pulsar can give abosultely the same thrill and adreline rush .... and maybe more comfort :P

If you're looking at aggressive stance, RC is the way to go. Pulsar SS has a far relaxed Sport Tourer type of riding position. It'll be more comfortable though.

i m a huge fan of this yet to be launched product. but scared about the quality. if i have around 5.5 lac to buy a supersport i think gt650r comes to the equation. i liked everything about it except for the quality.
but looking at the quality of 390 i am thinking twice.
what do u guys think?
my perception now is both these bikes have roughly same quality

Yes maan!! Myself on the same boat. I dig the RC, what styling man. But I am only too familiar with the legendary parts quality of Bajaj.
I know the fit and finish and the initial first appearance would be too good, but later in a few months you'd be looking around for one replacement or the other.
In fact the 390 has more issues than 200 what with the engine dying at random for some people. I sincerely hope Bajaj shuns the frugality and loosen the 20% profit margin to allow some quality on the parts.

Funny thing is even knowing about this, I may end up buying one. Look at the irrational behaviour !
