KTM would be promoting the RC200 as a touring bike..

HX250R wouldn't replace the RC as both are of different types. There really isn't any other bike series to look forward to, other than the RC series in the 200-400cc displacement range as it's the only supersport range available(barring the expensive Hyosung GTR)

Even if KTM promote the RC200 as a touring bike, tourers wouldn't even look at it due to the 2 factors,
1. Riding position: People already complain about wrist and back pains given by R15 when touring. In comparison to RC's sitting position, R15's looks like that of a commuter.
2. Fuel Tank: The RC's fuel tank is smaller than the small tank of the Duke by 1 litre. 9.5L including reserve isn't a good news for a tourer. This will be a bigger problem in case of RC390 than RC200 as the 200 might get away due to better efficiency

I agree bro..I was'nt telling that the HX250R is an upgrade to the KTM Duke 200 let alone the 390(RC or Duke)..what i meant was the HX250R can be an alternative.

And I do not agree that the RC200 can be a tourer. I just said that they will be promoting it as a tourer..which obviously is not right

Yeah. I agree. If people are not specific about the bike type, the HXR will definitely be considered as an alternative.

The reason I was thinking while riding to office today that I won't get myself the RC 390, no matter how fetching it looks at the svc, no matter how week in the knees it makes you feel, no matter how much value for money it appears.
I know I'd still be happy buying it and the ride would make me forget everything about the niggles like the case now, but somehow I think I'd rather want to but a more rounded out product. Plus the next purchase would anyway be 1 or 2 years from now and till then I am sure my finances would be shored up and options would increase still. Besides , I'd like to complete all the mods on the 200(I haven't done any till now) before resigning it to the garage. That should keep me occupied and distracted from the obvious pull of the RC

Ktm are moving to somewhat RE territory? Forget all the pain when riding it. If at all it can be!

KTM RC 390 expected to be priced something around 2.5lakhs OTR. Top speed is expected to be around 175kmph. RC 200 is expected to be priced something around 1.8 lakhs OTR.

1.8L for a 200 bike too much. But what can KTM do, the Duke 200 is for 1.5L something. Lets see has KTM mapped these rides.

What's the saddle height of Rc series taller than duke?
Hate that underbelly exhaust ! Making me climb a ladder to get on the saddle of NS .
And at parking I wish I had some cranes to help me.

Yep. The seat height of RC390 is a whooping 820mm. Taller than NS which stands at 805. Taller than both duke 200 and 390.
