I am sure a lot of duke owners were waiting for triumphs to turn up in India. I am one of them. But frankly, chances of myself getting spare 7-8 lacs(or even 2-3 lacs for downpayment!) for TST(or a daytona) are rather slim, given the impending marriage plans, and the assorted responsibilities which come with that.
And slim is euphemism here for non-existing !
So I might be looking at my next bike here right in this thread. But honestly, hearing about the heating issues on the 390 thread and the same issues with my 200, I am a bit apprehensive about the RC390. I mean I know a mere sight of this beauty at the showroom would blow all reason away , but I just hope KTM resolves those heating issues and any other teething issues on the 390. And I know this might not be a misplaced hope as KTM/Bajaj do listen to customers and try to resolve the issues(I will hold myself back from likening the first lot of any Bajaj bikes as test mule bikes ).
So a mean clothed version of the Duke 390, the naked is sexy too but in a rather more carnal way, without the 'issues' of the naked would be the perfect antidote for marriage

The beak should only be on supermotard or hypermotard(borrowing from Ducati speak) bikes.

I think designers these days feel compelled to come up with rather strange bits in the name of 'radical'

I was very tempted to get a 390 Duke as well, I had made a booking and then cancelled it after the test ride. But I'm not getting any younger and if I don't get a supersport now, the chances of it ever happening in the future will take a major nosedive.
So, as much as the RC390 tempts me, I must resist. :S

Agreed. It looks like an aerodynamic disaster. A track oriented bike shouldn't have a fairing like that, IMO.

Dunno if RC390 will be delivered before 2015

Most of the bikes in the initial production run went to Europe since europeans don't use/buy motorcycles during the winter (snow)... so practically all production between October and February will go towards meeting Indian demands, so the wait list should tumble down at a rapid rate now. RC-series will probably also follow a similar pattern as Duke 390.

Though looks are subjective and reactions would vary depending on individual tastes, but I for one believe that there are some creations which would be universally 'likeable'. I can't be sure why this design is not one such?
I would go as far as saying this look sexier than the RC8R, though certainly lacking on the big bike dimensions

The way twin headlights are placed and the fairing design around it seems like less aerodynamic...is it wind tunnel tested ...

If people could issue accolades to the weird design of new zmr, why cannot RC390? For aerodynamic friendly, the bike has to be test-ridden and I do not think the KTM engineers just offer any thing to bike lovers to make their presence felt! BICHAR KIJIYE...
