But I guess the gearing of the Duke 390 will greatly suite the RC variant more. The 390 is geared taller and that makes it more relaxed and stress free even at 130+, but due to lack of any wind protection the rider may feel uncomfortable soon. So the RC will feel great with similar gearing at high speeds. With gearing like the D200, it will hit the rev limiter more often and while it be a cool feeling, but personally I wouldn't like to be forced into hitting the limiter often (something the D200 forces). I would like to do that only when I would want to do that. The RC will still be so rev happy that hitting the red line will be a cake walk
Indeed, it sounds completely like me (someone who never stops endorsing high/hard revving screamers ). But even keeping my bias aside, the longer gearing probably makes a lot more for the street oriented Duke 200/390. In my opinion, Sporty bikes (which RC series is) should ideally be eager to lunge to the redline. Even though this is based on the duke series, i'm fully expecting a shorter gearing and a more aggressive, top-heavy engine map to be the part of the modifications.

I think the 1st 4 gears of D390 are "short enough", obviously not as short as D200 and I believe that it is good. Having more shorter gearing in D390 like that of a D200 would lead to under utilization of D390 engine's top end potential, OR, if the 1st 4 gears are made shorter and the current top speed of 160-165kph is tried to achieve, then the 5th and 6th gears would have to be made too long and that will be like a big miss match and will probably create some disconnect with the bike's performance. Also, more short gearing would lead to more frequent red linings and the 390 being a bigger engine will probably generate even more heat than it already does (not sure if I am correct here with this theory). The current gearing arrangement achieves the best balance of generating ferocious performance from the bigger 375cc engine.

I mean, the D390 achieves a true top speed of at least 160kmph right? And that is fantastic for a 375cc engine which is a single! Even more fantastic is the way it achieves that mark. RC being much more aerodynamic would feel even better at close to those speeds. So, I think the current gearing set up is quite perfect. And even KTM changes it a bit, I am still gonna love it no matter what..

I am (was), and my booking is long pending and may be I will even get the bike if I call the dealer but I have not called them up till now because I was waiting, hoping for something little different to flutter my heart. Looks like the wait is over now, or should I say the real one has begun

Don't worry it is quite genuine. MCN won't tarnish their reputation by putting fakes.

It's genuine. KTM have uploaded a while lot of photos on Google plus official account. RC 125, 200 and 390 (different colour schemes)

                It doesn't get any better!

buy one, keep it near, Delhi, Chennai or Coimbatore!, ride on a touring bike to these locations, only to take the RC to track.

It makes so much sense after all this time.

A Free flow exhaust, better breathing, and an ECU remap means 400 + PS / tonne.

think of a 55 hp bike which weighs at 140kg.

Green bike is going to have some trouble in international market.

Thanks for the link, saw most of the pics got 125 & 200, don't see any 390 there. Of course, I don't doubt 390's existence because of that, after all it's the logical next step from KTM!
I'm a wee bit disappointed by their decision to go with 200 for this version.. may be they could have made it 250 instead of 200?
