    I am on the same boat. Maybe will end up buying the RC. but think for a moment, if i have 5.5 l, why not the GT650r? the bonus is its got that sinister exhaust note too which even the kawa cant match.

      Same here ... I guess all of us are a little worried about the Quality... but I am positive about the fact that this will be a more refined version than the initial D390's .... D390 is better in the newer lots they say .... only irritating thing im worried about is the engine oil/coolant leaking.... hope they clear this one. And bajaj I think is taking feedback this time ... they know how heated the market is going to be ... cant make a mistake now with the ktm chance!... I dnt mind a few noises or a little less refinement since will be upgrading frm rtr ..

          I agree. I too have thought about those two bikes and have felt the same. It's sad that the only two affordable powerful supersports have to suffer from below par quality.
          I'm not going to buy the RC for at least one year after its launch. So, I'll get to see the issues associated with it which helps me decide whether to buy it or not.

          And those DRLs look awesome ... the bike will look a real mean machine after evening!
          Yep. Eagerly waiting to see this baby blast past like a rocket at night. Even more eagerly waiting for me to be on the saddle of that rocket

            And more hp too .... in the end more power has its benefits even if acceleration wise its the same ...

            But the bulk in the gt might take away the fun of riding on city roads...(even other wise more mass means acceleration will seem dampened to the rider) something the rc can provide...daily kicks while commuting to office ... those who have tested might be able to say!

              I am 95% going to buy this, though after the initial launch I will book after waiting at least 6 months, by then the teething problems "beta testing" should be done with and aftermarket parts of internation quality should be available, tail tidy and exhaust are on my list. Nothing else comes close in that price range, unless of course a GT650R or Ninja 650 second hand comes available within 3.5l.

                i rode the gt n the duke 390 both and found the gt's acceleration better especially where the midrange starts. more so it felt like a proper big bike.

                but then it was the duke and we are talking RC here. expect the rc to feel like a proper supersport.

                  The problem with this approach is within that one year you'd have many more equally/more powerful and may be better bieks available, so you wait more in deciding. lol

                  I think best would be to buy the first lot. It would be the pure version(with niggles admittedly). The later lots might get a milder map or a smaller sprocket for taking care of snatching and whatever blah blah the public complains of making the bike neutered. Enjoy it for 1-2 years and then dump it into the 2nd hand market before the frequent visits to svc start frustrating you.
                  Start looking for a used SBK since by then an R1/blade would cost aorund 20 Lac on road

                    I agree but my SBK dream was completely shattered after the Triumph launch. So, I'll need the RC to act like an SBK till I can get an SBK(if at all). That'll take a minimum of 5 years and the RC needs to stay till then. If any other bike is launched that betters RC, which I seriously doubt is gonna happen, it'll be only be better

                      Some personal views regarding KTM RC series -
                      If the naked bikes are having so many teething issues like
                      1)vibrations
                      2)unknown sounds
                      3)nuts and bolts (loosen time to time)
                      And so on(if any)
                      Then the conditions of fully faired bikes in India would be the worst, since fairing involves a lot of fit , finish and precision while assembling, and we know that how good bajaj is when it comes to fit and finish.
                      If Bajaj was not able to make it's naked bikes like pulsar 200nd and tge two dukes(200,390)vibe free, then the no. Of these issues will probably increase only.
                      P.S.- I liked ktm RC 390 and pulsar 400ss very much and I am planning to buy any one of these two. I know that BAL is trying its best to improve there quality and 200ns is a very nice machine but acc.to me its difficult to make fully faired bikes than naked ones.

                              Why? What's wrong? The term supersport has sort of become a common name for a type of motorcycles which have track focused handling and riding position. When a puny KTM RC125 is called a supersport, what's wrong in calling the big boy GTR by the same name?

                                Ok when i said supersport i meant the commited riding position( around 30 degrees of forward lean). i did not mean the middleweight 600cc screamers.

                                and i was comparing it with RC with around the same forward lean.
