BUT to me this bulbous fairing reminds me of a nice big red onion and will be as costly as the onion is now a days

Sorry hero fans for breaking your hearts but this design sucks big time
EBR please pass me the joint you were smoking while designing this this looks just like the horribly unbalanced looking firebolt and 1150

Somewhere Hero still thinks that they rule the market.. Looks like the people at Hero don't know anything about what the market demand asks for.. Releasing this product at a time when all others are improving at every detail.. But no.. They release this.. Even the 125cc discover has a mono-shock and a good looking silencer..

            Ride safe and have fun.

I've lost all faith in hero now. Glad I own the older zmr. In time, hero wil loose position as the world's no.1.
Bajaj is way too better man thanks to ktm.

The new ZMR is better than the original funny designed ZMR.

But the new Karizma R is a disappointment.

by looking at these pics and video, two things are for sure -

                      (1) EBR will die of shame, if this is designed with their help.

                      &

                      (2) I, and in fact many of us can design a much better bike, if given the resources.

this is just a refreshed version, nothing more.

regarding looks, it definitely not ugly but still below average.

an actual successor of Karizma ZMR should have -

                      1) 17" wheels, probably 100 or 110 front and 130 or 140 rear tyres.
                      2) bigger and better front disk brake.
                      3) increased stiffness of swingarm.
                      4) better chasis, probably a pressed steel perimeter frame or something with more stiffness.
                      5) mono-shock at rear, along with something like yamaha or honda pro-link.
                      6) thicker front forks.
                      7) revised steering geometry for better handling and somewhat better cornering.
                      8) a less bulky body.
                      9) redesigned and somewhat smaller and less bulky exhaust can.
                      10) redesigned front end, either with sports bike like or sports tourer like feel. in either case not like this... where handle looks like jutting out of fairing looking like an aftermarket job.
                      11) stay away from funny looking designs, its ok... we understand your designer loves both .. the P220 headlights and those of side by side ... but that doesn't mean you can incorporate both at the same time. it can't get more funny than this.
                      12) redesigned alloy wheels for a fresh look.
                      13) and tell me one thing...red rear shock absorbers... is that a hero trade mark or something..?? can't change .. huh.. somebody tell them...it does not increase the sex appeal.
14)gosh...i haven't even touched the engine part... so can we ask for liquid cooling.
                      15) fuel injection.
                      16) more power.

huh .. the list is endless.

and guys i have a doubt those vertically stacked headlamps ... are they projector.. coz i think they are just clear lens with reflector.

ideally i would have preferred it with 25 bhp....but now.. i don't think thats gonna happen.... and that sleek and slim tail doesn't go with a bulky body ....

All this time I was silent reader!!! Now I have found 2things that I can use in my existing ZMR:
                        1. The half chain gaurd and the chain set (may be O-ring, dry chain)...
                        2. The projector in my exisiting assmbly!! THough not 100% sure...

I started loving my ZMR even more, after seeing the new models.....

                        Regards,

This kind of work by Hero won't inspire anyone, and that too providing the bike with the same old specs time again and again (not in this, waiting for the specs). You can not expect a performance bike from a manufacturer, which is totally into the business of making budget and fuel efficient bikes (let me remind you, in that category they didn't applied any of there own R&D (beat in the field of design and about engine we all know the case, which is being borrowed by Honda since 80s). What Hero always did is STICKERING the bike to give the customers a SO CALLED ALL NEW FRESH LOOK. And the now after their JV with Honda broke up, they have new mantra of give a ALL NEW FRESH LOOK is by providing the unproportionate design (like what we saw they did with Karizma). I have always been a fan of Old Karizma which looks way millions times better than the current one in the market and I guess that with everyone for liking the old school Karizma.

Now with this New ZMR, personally I didn't liked the way its being designed and I guess by reading this thread most of the bikers have the same feeling.
They tried to give the bike the modern appeal by putting some piece of design which is in trend these days, but they didn't thought how the bike will end up by putting all the stuff together for eg.
                          1. Rear Mud Guard Hugger (totally disproportionate, if look the bike from the side look - the ZMR in red in above pics from a expo)
                          2. Silencer could have been stretched higher to match with elevation of the rear.
                          3. The front looks all messed up. (putting this and that of other bikes - personally it seems to be the front borrowed Ducati's 999 and the by the Aprilia RSV4).
                          4. The last one is their Tank, I don't know why they are carrying the old fuel tank with their all Karizma series, It doesn't give the bike the ummph feel.

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR 2013 unveiled at Macau: xBhp News

The new ZMR is definitely going to be a better looking motorcycle than the current ZMR, but the new Karizma looks doubtful. However, I am still looking forward for some high quality pics and some more pics of the new ZMR from all angles before passing a judgement on it. Hero's build quality has always been good and there's no doubt that these should be competitively built as well. Current pics aren't good enough for me to pass any judgement on the build quality though.

Having a conventional twin rear shock setup at the back is not bad; however, a good mono suspension is always preferable. However, the choice of conventional twin rear shock setup clearly displays the lack of development in the case of the swing-arm, even the chassis appears to be same. Performance wise, the only way it can challenge a NS200 is by having challenging specifications. If it does have good specs, at least similar to the NS200 then it can still be a very good touring motorcycle and an economical one at that.

PS: Certain Hero motorcycles like Xtreme and ZMR (though not typically beautiful) always look better in person than in pics. So I will at least wait for some high quality pics.

                            Let's see.

From the pics, the bike looks definitely disproportionate! Maybe, a naked bike with some modifications and engine tuning would have been more welcome!

I was glad when I learnt that Hero had joined hands with EB. But if this is what they are going to offer us, I would say, they still have a long long way to go.
