As a layman regarding faired, cruiser, naked etc, I find this bike pretty ordinary. Of course, it would be powerful, but surely, a newbie like me would never go for it when it's priced so high! The pricing clearly tells me its for the 'chosen' 'passionate' ones exclusively.

It may be a practical with a torquey core at heart, but the price is a bit on the shocking side. However, given that its a twin and not single cylinder, a test ride would be great before rejecting it outrightly. I have a feeling there's more to this bike, than its specs suggest.
Either ways, there are customers who might find something in this bike that no other has. They may be limited, but yes, there are.

Although, Inazuma does give rise to a question: How practical do we need to be? And where does the common Indian biker stand on the Practicality-to-Sportiness Scale, right now in 2014? Do we really need a lot of practicality still, given good safer roads & enough fuel-paying capacity?

And surprisingly, there questions would not have crossed our mind, had this bike been priced around 2.5L on road. At that price, it would've been a killer deal, just because its a practical twin.

Anyways, the poll results are out of the world totally. Suzuki does not see them, I hope. Its not exactly what you would call, 'good news'.

The thing is, in international markets, this Inazuma is being marketed as the most beginner friendly and cheapest 250cc motorcycle among the more popular Honda CBR250R and Kawasaki Ninja 250/300. Internationally it is cheaper among the three and while it may be the most beginner friendly 250cc given the overall package, it's definitely not coming cheap here in India. Suzuki must find a way to price it lower, sooner.

The performance, it seems, isn't much to talk about either even against the CBR250R. Here's a comparison from a pretty good website and the one that I follow:

Looks like another failure...sad was expecting suzuki to price it around 1.8-2.0 lakh. But since its CKD and may be not from thailand like Ninja its price is relatively high. Only field in which it can be better D390 and N300 can be touring because of its ergonomics and very big single seat( as we find in most of the touring/adventure bikes like BMW GS and KTM adventure series etc) and small fairing.

This bike has been built for a purpose. The looks might not be jaw dropping but not that bad either. A slight trimming here and there would have done the tricks.

What impressed me is the build quality. Amazing. At least in pics. And don't forget that it's a twin. Having said that it would take real guts for a perspective buyer to shell out around 3.5L for this bike.

                        One interesting thing is:

t's the least expensive option at $3,999 and also the most comfortable
In some markets this bike is cheaper than CBR 250! that makes it competitive in those markets. Here in India, It is almost two times CBR 250.

Unless Suzuki, localize this one's production, this bike is going to be just an embarrassment for Suzuki.

Now considering the stiff market conditions in 250-400 cc segment in India, even localization will not promise much (in that 1-2 years, this bike will be again out dated)
And going that localizing way is kind of gambling for Suzuki. I dont see it happening. For time being, Suzuki India have to stay dormant.

Suzuki will hate me posting this here but:

I agree, If it is priced around 2lacs, it could be good deal. I said okay for its looks in real which is somewhat different than pictures. When I have visited, there was no test-ride available.

Priced at 3.1 Lacs? Isn't it a typing mistake. Guess it should be 2.1 Lacs.
They should fire the guy who came up with the final rate for this bike. "Apne paid pe kulhari maarna" this goes well with Suzuki.

It is indeed very steeply priced. If it was manufactured in India the costs could have been kept low and pricing it more reasonably would have been possible. But, I don't think its possible in the near future as its a twin cylinder. KTM 200s & 390s are single cylinders so its manufactured here. Till date the only twin cylinders manufactured in India were rd350 and yezdi 350 (not sure if it was just assembled) Initially even rds were CKDs, but two strokes are all together in a different league as they are simple to manufacture. (I don't remember if there are any other bikes with more than one cylinder, manufactured in India)
