I'm presuming that it still wont make any good sales figures and the price is still a tad too much for what's on offer. One should also remember that this is India where people always look for the best bang for their buck and value. I mean there are a lot of better options out there.
Many people also will figure that spares might turn out to be hard to get as there wont be many bikes on road and dealers will only bring in spares on demand or keep them in short supply for fear of them going dead stock for long periods. Many better bikes have bitten the dust before and I believe that the same history might repeat again.

Even after this reduction of price i think they are still earning quite a hefty amount, the product price should be near about 1.5 lakhs max, but the jerk has hitted those people who has already brought this product at an insane price of 3lakhs, it's quite possible that soon they will come up with another price cut as on this price also i don't see lot of people buying this product.

News everywhere says that Suzuki would compensate the difference in the price to those who already bought.

It's still a CBU, hence the price. We still can't say if they were making 1L in profits. Reminds me of Honda Jazz which Honda sold in losses per car (after price reduction) and finally was taken off despite being a great spacious hatch.

Yes, that's what I heard too.

But, keep any <3L bike beside the Zuma and you'll see how great Zuma's build/plastic/seat/metal quality is! It's no slouch and can do 110-115 kmph all day long.

If we compare zuma with its competition then it still looks overpriced by 40- 50k. Ideal price would have been 1.8 lacs on road for delhi. Being twin it is not giving performance of singles of same cubic capacity then it should not be sold on hefty price. No offense intended to anyone. I just feel that it does not deserve this price at which suzuki intends to sell it.

But they don't have to as I doubt if even a single soul bought it then ;-)

Jokes apart, though the price might still look a bit steep, its a bomb of a bike. One of the best in build quality, refinement, comfort... And lets not forget it is the cheapest twin now. Don't think Suzuki can go much further than this keeping in mind it comes via CKD (or CBU?).

Well it's good for the buyers if they are gonna compnesate them, suzuki should have produced the bike locally or in SKD format to keep the price under check, if HD can locally produce motorcycle then why can't Suzuki.

This is exactly what I observed @ Auto Expo 2014. Build quality, paint quality, Fit & finish, seating comfort & cushioning, alloy wheels....Everything on this bike is top notch. Quality of this bike is in a totally different league.

P.S. I really dont know why each and every bike maker(in 200-300cc category) in India is focusing on rider's comfort only. Inazuma is the only bike in its category which is coming with a comfortable and XL size pillion seat.

With the price cut, Zuma doesn't feel like it is overpriced to me anymore. A CKD parallel twin with such a great build quality at this price isn't bad at all. Will be a great bike for tourers with a punchy mid range and a good pillion seat. Build quality is the best in class. The engine torque output is on par with the other parallel twin Japs(both N250R and R25 produce the same 22Nm). Peak power is obviously less as this bike was never meant to hit 13000/14000 RPM. If it did that, it would have become a GSX-R 250(wrt engine). This one should also last long without much fuss looking at the quality. Too bad I ain't a hardcore tourer.

Fit and finish is top notch as the bike is coming via CKD route and not produce locally, once the product is localised quality tends to drop, one example is of HD 750, as the engine is not of higher revving nature i believe it will last longer just like suzuki samurai ,no problem bike.

Yes and it will last long than other bikes.

Wow, so does it mean CKD bikes can indeed be priced so less? Hyosung should do the same for GT250R too and I am sure they will see a a big jump in sales.

Spotted a Inazuma yest in Bang near Koramangala. The bike indeed looks great in flesh than in pics.
But the sound, it did sound soft to me..
It's a lot like nuts and bolts - if the rider's nuts, the ride - bolts!

Price in delhi all inclusive is 2.31 L . Has a word with Bitto suzuki in Lajpat naagr .

IMO, Zuma make sense now for tourers. I had a short TD on the crater filled roads & it;s the most comfortable bike ever i has rode. best part is power band is pretty spread out for cruising on the highway. While in dukes , one needs to work out gear box all the time to stay in power band , you don;t need to do that in zuma .

IMO with this price correction , Zuma will sell for what it offer.
