Basically the same bike, with different motors?

Why not jazz up your selection and make your wet dream wetter?
How about the absolutely mad (and cheap)FZ 09 ?

Holy cow! So ur saying that you have already seen the pics of the bikes that have people here doubting on their existence altogether!

      And now WTF is R3!!

"Yamaha are expected to offer a larger capacity motor above 150cc but below 200cc in the third iteration of the ‘R15′, if it will even be called that. This move will continue to see a liquid-cooled, four-valve, single-cylinder employed but with added power, most probably to the tune of 20 PS. With wider rubber already arriving on the 2.0 edition, we doubt it will sport any fatter tyres. The 2.0 also brought in a longer wheelbase so it remains to be seen whether the 3.0 will feature any changes in this regard. Another sure-shot expectation is the addition, or rather the option, of ABS to improve braking control over questionable surfaces.
As far as styling is concerned, we don’t expect much to change, or, if the company do decide, it could be something entirely radical; but that’s just wishful thinking. Either way, there’s a new YZF-R incoming, and those who want a fully-faired scaled-down sportsbike can look forward with anticipation.

I dont believe any of this, except this being a clear speculation. Since Yamaha already confirmed that they are focused on Scooters till the end of 2014, expecting a launch of entirely new machine is very remote. When it comes to delaying the product launches, nothing beats Yamaha.

It will be a refresh of existing line-up and no new fresh launch thats what I can predict looking at long history of Yamaha. I seriously hope they prove me wrong here.

Went to a dealer to test ride a v2 yesterday and also to inquire about the new colors. Dealer said that the new colors will take at least 2 months to reach showrooms. I think the 2013 colors were already in showrooms by feb so why are 2014 colors taking that long. Makes me think it would be what yamaha might call the v3 with the speculated upgrades.

The focus on scooter looks pretty evident as the dealer only had all the scooters lined up in his display. Fzs and r15s were behind covered.

Quiet possible. But whether it is v3 or not, will have to wait for the 2014 models to hit showrooms as i really like the new blue.

Your wishlist lacks the one wish which is the most likely to be fulfilled : New stickers/special edition

But honestly, if it turns out to be a twin/triple I'd be delighted.

I just hope yamaha pulls a rabbit out of the hat and launches an FZ 03, 300 CC triple on the lines of the FZ 09 which has been a great hit globally

My oh my! Isn't that a LOT of expectation ?
The only rabbit pulling was done by hero by unveiling the HX250R. Yammie on the other hand wants to ride scooters here.

Come on Yamaha!! Give us a 250/300 cc twin to take on the Ninja 300 and Duke/RC390! I don't care what guise(naked/supersports) just bring it on!!

P.S : Did you guys read that Kawasaki is launching the Z250(250 cc parallel twin) soon in India??
                          Here it goes :

Yes its a naked, sharing the outgoing ninja 250R's engine with slight typical naked bike tuning... It will be direct competitor for R25 interms of performence factor... but yammie might
have a slight edge over Z250 due to sports tuning and dynamics.... Let's hope both will rule the 250 cc PT engine segment:thumbup:

why is this thread too turning into r25 thread again? :/ every other post says " come on yamaha i want r25" and other stuff. stop whining!

No offence, but other manufacturers have expressed their wish to launch 250/300 cc bikes. non are still on the road and for atleast few months they wont be also and same with yamaha. also few guys (in xbhp but other threads) told that yamaha should upgrade their current fz and r15 bikes. and recently we got to know that new r15 and fz are being launched. r25 prototype is shown so that people know that there is a 250 cc in the making. there are fleets of bikes coming this year, the competition is starting now. i understand the current performance bike enthusiasts are inclined to d390, more in the package for lesser price. i cant compare bikes based on the pricing but people still buy the N300. the market is divided into target customers based on pricing. now there will be certain set of customers who will push their budget to get the particular bike for performance. and i am one of them and few others here also belong to that list.

RC series- pic of bikes being tested
                              hx- only showcased
                              r25- prototype showcased
pulsar ss and CS- showcased and pics of testing all over
N250 single cyl- speculated launch by year end.
and other ninjas only news about launch and not launched yet.
                              mojo- showcased
                              so guys please chill.

did i miss anything else ?

now coming back to R15 V3 (about which the thread is for)
if the said or speculated changes are implemented there will be increase in costs by few thousands (i am guessing 2 to 3k increase), and since r15v2 will be stopped its likely they might not increase pricing so much. i personally will not want the looks to be changed much, maybe 10-20% looks difference is fine (yes i am being mean here since i dont want a better looking bike than v2 ) . and i will certainly not buy the v3 because if wont make sense for me atleast.

since new fz pics are posted, i cant really see the design properly, but not much happy with it since i liked the current fz looks. i hate to see fz getting lean.

now i am not sure if this thread should continue since its turning into a different thread all together.

i know i cant say what should mods do but mods please close this if found that way. :/
