    There's something that no bajaj can match up in yamaha r15. Ive ridden ra200 for decent kms and and the first thing i notice d is the front end feedback, its nowhere close to r15. But the engine felt like r15 on steroids. R15 is not about acceleration, its about the confidence it inspires. Ive been riding it for 2 years and 50k kms is done. Still the bike has more to offer

      This is a R15 v3 thread keep it that way.
      Yeah you love Yamaha but let's not discuss (especially downplay) other manufacturers.
      Both the bikes are made for different aspects.
      R15 is a track oriented(as if we all have access to race track in our backyard)
      Rs200 is more road focussed.
      Comparison is wrong.

        What if this is Yamaha's reply to Honda CBR250RR by updating the R25? I fear this will ever be launched in India, as there are spy-shots of the new FZ, and this one has not been spotted yet in India.

        Since Honda and Yamaha are focusing more on scooters here, and R15 V2 sale figures are still in a healthy shape, Yamaha might introduce new paint/sticker job for R15 with the launch of new FZ.

        These are just my assumptions.

          their product are good no doubt on quality but they don't justify their price tag. And its not point carrying the quality and get beaten by a lowered priced better product like NS200 or RTR200.

            No, i don't love yamaha but i own the R15 and i didn't downplay any manufacturer i just stated the key difference between 2 bikes by 2 manufactures that are priced closely.

            Not even r15 owners doesn't understand what it really is. others just focus on bhp figures and drag race results to prove its a bad buy.
            And you don't necessarily need a track in your backyard to enjoy a track focused sports bike, but having one would be awesome.

            To people who talk about drags and top speed, a MTT Y2K bike goes insanely fast but is it a better bike than CBR1000RR?

              Understood it the hard way with a workshop bill of 65000. To exploit all the feed back and finesse of the chassis you need closed circuit. Do that on a public road you are gonna be plastered in a paddy field as it happened with me.

              In that case there wont be much difference between RS and R15 unless you are doing neck break speeds on public roads
              it certainly helps though.

                  r15 is fairly exploitable on road. anyone looking to improve his riding in general definitely should start on one. as you get old, you'll have enough time for dominars and apaches.

                      Yamaha is seriously good at designing bikes. Wow that r15v3 looks smashing. I mean upsidedown forks, meaner front end, bigger disc??, DRLs, Digital dash makes me love this v3 more than my v2.

                      I have been riding v2 for 4+ years now and 50k on odo (incl Mumbai Ladakh Mumbai), now after doing so many miles on this v2, I really feel like upgrading to a bigger engine bike, but the moment I sit and start riding my v2, I just forget about the higher capacity bikes. This is because yamaha has made a gem in v2. The handling, braking, gearing is spot on. Yes I agree that the power is less but I bought it when I was 24. With no previous riding experience, the r15 taught me how to ride a bike, its really that forgiving. Thats the sole purpose of Yamaha making the r15, teaching newbies how to ride a bike without landing them in trouble.

                      People comparing r15 to higher CC bikes and pointing out that those beat r15 in drag really should ride this machine. I bet you will start loving it. Drag race doesnt define the character of a bike. Drag races on street are definitely not made for Gentlemen.

                      I hope the v3 sets a new benchmark for handling in the 150cc segment.

                        Well said.. happy to see a true yammy! I own a Yamaha FZ 16. He is worth all the money.. I still have my eyes on R15 even though I wanna upgrade to higher CC or PS ! The V3 is really mean look wise. Hope this is gonna be a huge hit

                          well said.

                          i own version 1 and close to 6 yrs. i agree with you. hard to sell it and get higher cc bike. if only r3 was made in India, it would ve solved lot of problems. but anyways fz250 is incoming and looking like a good contender.

                            Good to see Yamaha keeping the R15 updated regularly. A massive change on this one with upside down forks and the new headlight assembly. Looks a stunner!
