I have rtr for the past 6 years and let me tell you one thing, the quality may be good but the issues are more compared to Yamaha. And again are you in senses to compare street bikes to a bike which is a track focussed one and have more of top end.

And when would you give proof of all your claims or you are only good on keyboard? And repeating same illogical thing again and again.

Beat R15 in what sense? Do you know how much RTR vibrates? It's signature is Vibrations.. I agree it is VFM.. but it can noway come near R15..

P200NS. I agree it is the best Pulsar out there.. but it isn't the best bike out there.. VFM, yes. But can't compare it with R15.. I doubt you have ever tried R15.. it is a high revving bike..

Dude, I don't get it. Why do you have to criticize a bike when you don't know anything about it.. I mean, You can't hate Rossi

guys no point in arguing. r15 is top quality bike. yamaha charges money for it but its well worth it. saying this as 6 yrs old version 1 owner. agree it wouldn't hurt to have same package with a little bored out engine and extra 5 horses for 10k extra.

if you are really interested in learning how to corner you really dont have a choice. only other sport bike out there is rc but i wont recommend that as first sports bike.

rs200 perhaps handles equally well but its more of a comfy sports bike. not the type of bike ppl ride on track you see on tv.

Sometimes, I wonder whether the motorcycle manufacturers think and feel as deeply as we riders do.. And then I realize they are bound to restrictions and norms and limited resources just like us riders..

It is always good to have a healthy debate. However, bashing up products for their flaws is not productive for anyone except the "Marketing" team (Insert"No publicity is Bad publicity")

Yamaha needs to work on a few things that will make the product more appealing to the prospective customers.
TVS and Bajaj should think bigger and broader. The number game is passe. What the market needs is innovation and post-sales assistance.

I have been owning and using R15 since August, 2008 as my daily commute and as also for my long distance trips. The bike is running well as it did on day-1 !

I would say R15 is a VFM product if one can appreciate what it offers ! (by way of quality, performance, easy-to-own-and-maintain etc)

            My 2 cents !

P.P.S I wont be amazed if you get "triggered" if someone says Bajaj is as bad as you think Yamaha is [emoji48]
Yep. Even I am sometimes still suprised when the forum allows certain members to repeatedly bash any and all other manufacturer offerings other than their favoured ones. Extremly strong opnions here...almost to the point of being unresonable.

Yamaha might charge a premium for their bikes but looking at how their bikes are even afters years of use I would say its well worth it. This is just an age old debate between people who place horsepower and top speed above everything else and those who appreciate a well engineered product.

No issues I am mature enough (unlike some guys here) to understand that these are just different points of view.

But to say that a company should provide high quality reliable products and still charge extremely competitive prices shouldnt make sense to any reasonable person. After all its not a not for profit NGO.

The only bike I considered buying used was the R15 and CBR250r (i know there are different in category). Finally i did get the Apache rtr200 so i understand the vfm proposition. But if the R15 didnt have such a committed stance (for me or if I was more fit) then I would certainly considered it more.

This is why I dont understand people who brand worship (or maybe have alterior motives for blindly supporting a certain brand). I really dont care about the brand rather it's the product that matters and as a motorbiking enthusiast if the R15 is coming in better than before then I say bring it on (even if I would never purchase one) because I would certainly appreciate it for existing.

i have no hatred against any brand...its just that Yamaha as a brand needs to position the product sensibly...this is not my view but perhaps the view of majority of public...
their product are good no doubt on quality but they don't justify their price tag. And its not point carrying the quality and get beaten by a lowered priced better product like NS200 or RTR200.

Who are you to decide what justifies the price or not, I ask again again, do you know how economics of an automobike company works?

Beaten? Seriously? What its a drag race? Or to prove which is faster?

Dude, if you dont have any valid reasoning please stop this hatred and illogical posts. There is no point adding to your post count and add nothing valuable to any threads (on which you say Yamaha is bad)

@Mods : How can people not given any warning with their numerous fuming posts against a particular brand

I m not a hater of Yamaha or any other manufacturer but... Regarding cornering capabilities of rtr200 its pretty gr8 too don't underestimate that bike bro... Its way more sharper than most of 200s out there!! Not the fastest but the sharpest & as far as vibration are concerned rtr200 has almost no vibration even on higher revs (11k rpm).

Guys, hold on - please post within the realms of sensibility. We cannot compare 2 products within similar price brackets without considering their segments/intended users.

Yamaha may charge premium for the R15 with its relatively small battery, bad stock lights, unusable pillion seats (corrected that later), but the rest of the bike is good.
If one doesn't want it, one shouldn't buy it. Simple!

Pointless bashing is worthless. And most R15s' deliver in excess of 40+ kmpl, so its not a guzzler as speculated. It's mechanically very sound and if ridden and maintained well, it keeps on running forever.

Case in point : how about this?

And keeping on the topic, theres a new engine case(maybe nice mods inside) and as someone else was saying, the cowl above headlight is a dummy piece keeping the real headlight hidden inside and what was seen on the previous spy pic was just a portion of the headlight. A different go there from Yamaha .

The casing looks seems different but design(I.e. location of oil filter and oil filler cap) are the same as R15. It looks like the same lc135 based engine doing duty on current R15.
Also there are speculations that this could be a variable valve actuation (vva) type 155cc engine. In that case chances are the engine could be the same as the engine employed in NMAX 155 scooter(same lc135 based 155cc engine)

Yeah one can expect a healthy 2-4 bhp more out of tuning the scoot as with current R15.
