Parking problem is there for an R15 or Duke or any flashy looking bike. We need to wait and watch how practical it is for daily use in India, considering our road conditions.
Not having grabrails coupled with a heavy kerb weight might make it tough to park unless open space is available.
CKD would mean expensive spares so we need to consider how much a mirror or indicator costs as these are prone to damage in daily traffic.
Too early to conclude, but biggest factor will be price

Back to topic, are both the headlamps 55W?

Whats the use of rail grabs when the bike doesn't have a main stand?

I mean sometimes we need to lift the bike a bit to move it around in tight parking spots.
Main stand absence is another point.
Makes it tougher to repair punctures, lube the chain, etc.
But if it comes with a provision for installing the center stand like in R15, we would be glad.
I had it installed on my R15 & it has paid off really well.

Seeing all the night ride videos I guess so yes.
And ya it has 7.4mah battery so one ought to have a 55W battery.

lol, can you explain how are both interconnected? how will absence of grabrails affect the absence of center stand?

Topic about the grab rails: i feel if the bikes are powerful, the grabrails wont help much. the only way where the pillion is safer and can sit correctly in these bikes is to put arms around the rider and take support of the tank. recently when i was pillion on D200, i hardly felt comfortable with the grabrails and was pulled back more since you grab the support thats behind you. you are already been pulled back due to the power hence you need something to hold on to which in infront of you. not defending the absence of grabrails but just an realistic observation. the only purpose it can serve is when you tie luggage

Simple! Many people hold the grab rails to pull the bike while parking on the main stand. That was his concern.

no, that would have made sense if there was a center stand and absence of grab rails. it would be difficult if there was no grabrails and if it had center stand "wats the use of center stand when there is no grabrails" would have made sense . but V2 owners will know how to make it work. just hold on to the rear footrest holder and pull the bike back, it can be even used to rotate the bike if its on side stand. also to pull the bike towards you while parking. i find that much easier than the grabrails (i had fz before). here the height of the rider also wont matter and you have better grip.

Whether the bike has a center stand or not, sometimes we need to lift it to push it into a tight parking spot in parallel rows of parkkng and there's not enough space in front to come back in reverse in the correct angle.
That's the case I'm talking about.

Correct. Grab rails are not required actually and still you can have centre stand. Live example is R15V2. Even if V2 had grab rails, it would be a pain to hold them when the rear seat is inclined towards the front and a relatively big braking power. So sitting on a V2 with grab rails will make your arms pain and nothing else when the braking is done and in Indian roads, that is done quite a lot.

Why would someone ride with such an aggression that pillion arms would start paining? are you taking a pillion to a track? When there is a pillion the acceleration on 1st and 2nd gear should not be hard and it has to be gradual. The grab rails would definitely be useful atleast when braking -pillion can hold on to it. If its a female pillion then fine the rider would be fine I dont want to look like Karan johar while giving drop to my male friend

Its not about hard acceleration, but inclination of the seat. Even on R15v2, the pillion tends to slip forward even on slightest of braking/bumps. They need to hold the rider.

                          Ride safe and have fun.

No sirjee. Ride as a pillion on any of the V2 and you will understand what I am trying to say. Whatever be the speed you need to be ready for sudden braking, thanks to the awesome traffic sense of most of us, Indians. So incase of sudden braking, I'm sure the pillion will incline on the rider. Now imagine the same scenario with the pillion holding the grab rails. First as the rear seat is inclined towards the front the pillion's sitting posture will be a bit front inclined. So the pillion will be holding the grab rails going against the default seating posture. Even if you don't brake suddenly then also after some kms the pillion rider will start feeling the strain. Now add sudden braking to that. Pillion's body is moving forward but the hands are holding the grab rails. So the whole pressure will come to pillion's arms resulting to pain. So grab rails in these type of bikes is not required.

Sorry if my post has sparked off a different discussion.
To make it clear, I'm not talking about grab rails for pillion. I'm least bothered about pillion as I ride alone mostly.
I need the grab rails for holding & pushing the bike into tight spots!
