Re: Kawasaki ER-6n and Z250 Launched at 4.78 and 2.99 Lakh INR
I guess Kawasaki wanted to have a naked sibling for the masterpiece called Ninja 300 with a slightly lower price & specs for the naked bike fans in India. Though it is having twin cylinder & as per engine refinement it should be miles ahead of RC390/Duke390, it will not have much buyer like the KTMs because of it's price, but then again in spite of the higher premium, there are always some people who choose N300 over D390. But in case of a naked bike the scenario might be a bit different as larger share of people in India likes the faired bikes more. So number of sales might be lower here for this one.
P.S. I would have loved to see the Z1000 ish headlamp design on this.

I for one will go for a N300 over the RC390.. many factors attached to my decision.
No, I am not a Kawasaki Fan boy.. I am a fan of Indian Manufacturers.. But given a choice to select only from KTM or Kawasaki, it would be the N300.. the quality of the bike is miles ahead of RC.. the looks are way superior.. the twin cylinder will always be my choice over the single cylinder and its capabilities to do touring and at times tracks..
Ninja is a class of its own.. not that RC isn't but it is that single cylinder that will stop me from going for it..
This is not to offend anyone. All this is purely my opinion..

Re: Kawasaki ER-6n and Z250 Launched at 4.78 and 2.99 Lakh INR
All said and done I feel the price is ok. For me it is sweet. I had been waiting for this bike and was ready to shell 3.2-3.3. But I got impatient and got Ninja300.
Coming back to topic. You cant expect everything to be cheap. Z250 is the best machine for our city streets. You cant get a 250cc high quality, refined twin that produces 33 bhp at a price lower than this unless you make it here.
Every company is here to do business and make profits. Kawasaki is introducing lot more models even when it knows our market is price sensitive and there is nothing that compares with Ktm's in power to rupee ratio below 5 lacs. But honestly a powerful machine need not be best in quality.
There are people like me who enjoy quality and will not mind paying a premium. People like me were waiting for options like these that are high in quality. Inazuma, z250, Ninja300 are the kind of machines that ticks the right boxes for us. It is for those kind of people.
For vfm conscious people you always have the Ktm twins and Pulsars. When was options a bad thing? Indian premium bike market is booming and I am excited abt all these choices. We have a bike at every lac. Go ahead and pick your choice. You don't like pricing that doesn't make it a bad deal for others or stop it from selling.

I would have picked buddy if I didn't have a ninja 300 today. It makes perfect sense to me. I love nakeds and this is the kind of naked I always wanted. Alas, I already brought Ninja. I waited for the Z, but it never came.
As you said quality, finesse, is what Z and other Kawasaki products reeks all about. Quality was never cheap.

Exactly said, Ninja 300 is in a different league itself..I would have preferred Ninja 300 over R25 also, in case it is launched in India (in spite of being a Yamaha owner & lover).. Looks, performance, refinement, handling- consider all these, N300 is the topper in it's class...Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostI for one will go for a N300 over the RC390.. many factors attached to my decision.

It is 2.5L now. It was 3.5L before. Suzuki slashed the price of Inazuma after getting heavy competition. May be Z250 can also have its price slashed.Originally posted by Harisankar View PostMax of 2.8L to 3L onroad would have the best price for Z250. Can't justify this pricing with 40% localization when we get solid build Inazuma without any localization for 2.5L onraod now.R15S - Current

Re: Kawasaki ER-6n and Z250 Launched at 4.78 and 2.99 Lakh INR
Many will agree that KTM Duke390 is priced aggressively. However, When you compare the Build and Parts quality of Z250. Nobody can deny that the Z excels further. We have to keep in mind the engine here. IMO it will be hard for single cylinder engine to match the power delivery and refinement of a Parallel twin cylinder. Price certainly is on higher side than a KTM390. However, If I had to buy z250. I will surely be skeptical about the Price vs. Quality battle

The price is on the higher side solely due to the overall quality of the machine. Still, they could have priced it lesser by at least 30-50K.A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

People!!!! please stop comparing the pricing of Z250 against the D390. Not being fanboyic here, but the Z250 is having a twin pot and is CKD so the pricing has to be like this. Take the case of the Zuma 250, company slashed 1L after starting the production in India. At some point of time we might see the same happening for the Z250 is well, 50k price drop will be sweet

Re: Kawasaki ER-6n and Z250 Launched at 4.78 and 2.99 Lakh INR
I think the pricing is not that high....but i expected an ex-showroom price of 2.75 lks...
That would have made for a great refined & practical 250cc naked...
And even though both Duke & Z250 are nakeds...they are very different types...
one is a European naked & other one is a Jap naked...
so they'll be very much different when it comes to design,power-delivery, refinement, handling...etc...
The Duke is more demanding & has more character... whereas the Kawa is more accommodating & more refined...
Don't get me wrong...both are a blast to ride...
but it's upto us to decide which cup of tea do we want...!!! [emoji6] [emoji106]
Ride hard, Ride safe...
cheers...
