They know better than to do so. Since if they join this forum they'll have to deal with the complaints regarding their bikes as well. LOL

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Launched Globally: xBhp News
Yamaha India is not at all interested in bringing in bikes displacing more than 150cc. That's disappointing from a company which had given India some 2-stroke legends. Anyone who has properly spent on any Yamaha knows what an Yamaha machine can be like. But today, the highest displacement bike they have for India is 150cc. It's not that the top management is not aware of the scenario but somehow they never fail to disappoint us. And we(including yours truly) keep on speculating about a R25/R3 like a kid with a lit-up firecracker in hand. Once the initial excitement is over, anger and frustration follows.
We can only hope but nothing else.A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

What?!! Yamaha has haters?!!
Why would one hate this company? Granted some bikes from their stable were not so good but to attract hate.......wow........ That's news to me.

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Launched Globally: xBhp News
When you say we are capable of buying 150cc + bikes, are you willing to pay north of 3.5 lacs for a 250cc-300 cc bike? Even if you are willing the common perception in India will still be negative. May be this is what Yamaha meant when they said we were not ready yet. We still have sometime to accept a high priced high quality bike.Originally posted by RBhagawati View PostCan anyone shout in front of Yamaha head office that we Indians are now capable of handling and buying bikes bigger than 150 CC ????

True. But I would still readily pay upward of 3 lakh rupees for a 250cc bike with decent torque and power figures. That which both the r25/r3 have. Well maybe not r25 but definitely r3. Plus if you look at the current market then we are actually paying 3lakhs+ for bikes like gt250 and ninja300. Even though the ktm bikes offer much more for less. So to say we are not ready for r25/r3 in my opinion is wrong. Yamaha truly have been unwilling to get out of their 150cc comfort zone just as they were unwilling to get out of the 110/125cc commuter segment in the early 2000s. They just want to go with only the tried and tested formula instead of being a bit adventurous, a bit ambitious.
