Yeah, but that is a bit unethical as its their property (I am assuming that permission to reproduce the text was not taken) and also robs the site of clicks. I understand your inconvenience and of many others, but that can hardly be a valid reason for a site losing revenue.

but what is the source of Bike Inda??? Yamaha mailed to the particular blogger personally to announce the date??? I dont think so. Until a source comes up it is just a superficial date.

Now it's appearing on Motoroids too, but with the same 'officially unconfirmed'.

2.5 to 3 is impossible. Had it been localised then yes. Reasons are very clear

            1. Ckd like a Ninja300
            2. Bigger engine than a Ninja300
            3. Abs
            4. Imported from Indonesia not Thailand, no FTA with Indonesia unlike Thailand.
            5. Yamaha not known to play price game and does not play aggressive either.
            6. Yamaha does not consider itself to be a lesser brand than Kawasaki
            7. Even the locally made RC390 costs around 2.5 lacs on-road.
            8. Benelli TNT300 is almost 3.6 lacs on-road Mumbai.

Looking at that alone R3 pricing at 2.5 to 3.3 looks even more remote.

Pricing would most likely be more than a Ninja300 and if I were to take a guess, 4.2 lacs on - road Mumbai.

Just like Ninja300 sells inspite of premium pricing, R3 would sell too.

Are you sure they are imported from Indonesia ? Indonesia manufacturs the R25. Its from Thailand that markets like UK and the US along with Thailand themselves gets the bike. So it's highly unlikely that they make R3 engine and stickers in Indonesia only for India. And if it was CKD, the zauba site would clearly show that its CKD and the ARAI certification number like it shows for the smaller Ninjas. In this case its showing some specific parts imported which could mean some parts are made in India and hence cannot be called a CKD(you can see the same import philosophy for R25/R3 and CBR650F). And ABS is optional in US, hence I believe Yamaha could altogether omit the option in India. Moreover its way too late for the Indian launch and this product as you said cannot fall under 3 even if its manufactured in India considering the pricing of its single cylinder mad machine rival and Yamaha quality standards. Anyway this one will find buyers for sure as Yamaha has a special place among Inidan biking enthusiasts including me !

R3 is made in the same factory in Indonesia where R25 is made. Even if they plan to export the ckd models from Thailand, that will make sure it is priced near Ninja300.
Yamaha is new in this segment however, as I said earlier they dont think of themselves as any lower tjan Kawasakk.
                Lets see, 11th is near.

I agree with your points. But just one thought:
If they price it around the 4L mark, they will not be able to rake in the numbers.
I for one, am eagerly waiting for my upgrade from R15.
Almost finalized on Ninja 650, after ruling out the Benellis.
I don't consider the other 300s, but I'm giving this one a serious consideration coz it's a Yamaha.
Outright power is not what I'm looking at.
If R15's dimunitive single cylinder 17ps could deliver so much bike in the real world, R3 should be a cracker.
Even if it costs 4L, I can easily sell my R15, replace my ageing Fiero and still have a couple of lakhs left over!

Kawasaki demands a premium only in India. Outside of India( ie USA UK, EU etc) Kawa is seen as the worst of the jap 4

Not sure about other countries but in our country all the 4 Japs demand premium. R3 will be another example.

Visited a Yamaha showroom today and got confirmation that the R3 will be launched next month
The showroom guy quoted an expected price of 3 lacs on road!!

But these showroom guys never have any solid info and say things mostly on rumors.

The showroom guys just want to keep the junta interested.

This was heard earlier as well, where the showroom folks saying.."saar, r25 will be launched" now look the r25 has become r3.

This should be taken with a pinch of salt.

                                Cheers
