also, i have been saying pretty much the same thing as well in my previous 2 posts - that ninja 300 owners have hardly had any reason to go for R3 or RC390 and obviously they bought it because they wanted it, but of course surely several of them did wait or must have waited a long time for R3/R25/RC/etc pondering about when and what of it before finally deciding on ninja...just because they bought it doesn't mean none of them ever initially thought of or considered or waited for something else of the same type :-)

but then again about 2 years ago WSB had reportedly considered a 250 series by 2015 too, but after that news nothing happened or was even heard of about the matter..maybe this time it will materialize ? i hope so anyway.

Yamaha India has imported two units of the R3 for R&D testing only two days back. So we may see an India launch for it.

It is True. Looks like Yamaha realized the game has shifted to 300cc now and for the price the 25 wouldn\'t make sense!

Yamaha R3 in India for R & D purpose

According to import documents, Yamaha India has imported the new R3 for R & D purpose. Earlier it was expected that Yamaha will bring in the R25 for the Indian two-wheeler market but given the recent developments it seems that the Yamaha R3 will be launched in India. The Yamaha R3 has been exclusively developed for the European and American two-wheeler market whereas the Yamaha R25 was restricted mostly to the Asian markets.

But given the fact that both the bikes would have made their way into our market via the CKD route, it seems Yamaha has given the higher displacement bike more significance.In the Indian context, the Yamaha R3 will square off against the Kawasaki Ninja 300.
In terms of styling the bike is similar to its 250cc sibling with sharp and edgy lines that should appeal to the masses. Powering the Yamaha R3 is a 321cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor churning out 42PS at 10,750rpm and peak torque of 29.6Nm at 9,000rpm. The mill is mated to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox.

In terms of power output, the Yamaha YZF-R3 sits between its arch rivals the Kawasaki Ninja 300 (39PS) and the KTM RC 390 (43.5PS). Braking is done by disc brakes at front and rear while ABS is standard. The Yamaha R3 has a fuel tank capacity of 14 litres, which should be beneficial while touring and it tips the scale at 169kg.
With localisation and CKD assembly we can expect the Yamaha R3 to be priced around Rs 2.5 to 2.75 lakh. If Yamaha is able to pull this off, then it has a winner on its hands as the Yamaha R3 can deliver the refined nature of the Kawasaki Ninja 300\'s twin-cylinder motor and match up to the KTM RC 390\'s power output. Whether or not this happens only time will tell, watch this space for more information.

Bro it is nice to write the contains here in forum. Instead of going to a seperate directed link and later a website.

Many companies don't allow any sites to access. Here in my company even to open a "TimesofIndia" or "IndianExpress" you need to use your quota time of 15mins. in whole day only 1 hr is allowed.
and in many places those are not allowed.
