It's the ONLY inline twin 300cc faired bike in India; So it's only natural to compare pricing.

As far as quality goes... We've all seen the build quality of the N300...

The R3 on display at Sepang was built superbly. It made the R15 build quality look low-end. (I'm NOT saying that the R15 is badly built)

When you see the bike in the flesh it looks WAAAY better than pictures and videos.

Yamaha India will capitalize on that fact. (Besides the fact that it is a great bike)

It'll be great if Yamaha can price the R3 less than the N300. And they might, but it'll only be by a fraction.

Don't. Wait 20 days. We've seen a lot of news about that bike. Some are saying it'll be launched at the end of August. And as we all know, a trip to Leh is all a bike needs for testing (for the most part) and it's already there.

I lost all my love for my D390.

Ok I agree, I did not include the table headers. So here's a R15 that was exported to Japan -

In the above image, the Per Unit value is the declared cost of the vehicle.
Now in the post you have quoted, the first 2 entries are R3s which were exported to Japan and the declared value is 2.44 lakh
All I am saying is that since all these exports to Japan have a declared value that is quite close to the actual price in India, it should hold good for the R3 as well.
So a declared value of 2.44 lakh while exporting can translate to ~2.5 lakh ex-showroom in India.

Note that this is just my opinion so if later Yamaha goes crazy and prices it at 4.0 ex-s then it can't be helped.

Even if the bike is closer to 3Lacs expect it to make the other competitors weep. I still remember the monoply which Yamaha played while launching YZF R15 as the last resort. And Yamaha was able to survive without Escort. Then it got in FZ series, which got another hit. And then after that very few new launches. Though I have ridden my R15 more than 1L kms and I am still very happy with it, I would be going for something like MT03 rather than R3 but yes I would love to ride R3 on long, I know it will be fun.

Eagerly waiting.....
