Tires from my personal observation, are capable of handling commuting duties with ease and for people who like to scrap their knees even on streets ,these MRF's will do just that provided they are in prime condition. That's just a Prima Facie though..
Also, if anyone's wondering about,"Kitna Deti Hai", i've managed an display indicated 4.6L/100kms=21.79kmpl during these 160kms so far. Considering, all my frnds and cousins have tried their hands on the families first twin cylinder, decent enough right..??
Yamaha haven't started any promotions, hoarding, TV commercials for the R3, yet pple are aware about this bike and getting more glares with each passing day. Conclusion: It has a definite road presence even in the Black Shade, the exhaust note plays a fair enough role in attracting eyes.. Haven't crossed the 4.5k rpm deadline yet(actually its 5k), but manages to sail smoothly at 73-75kmph at these revvs.. More of it to follow soon..

Now time for a bit of negative: Owners, have you observed that on the low beam, its the RH light that remains On at all times, which acc to me should be the LH light playing that role. I understand that its the US that this bike retails in where this setting is justified, but when sold in India it should be the opposite. Also, on the R15, its the LH headlight that turns on, and the RH acting as a highbeam or passing light.! Please correct me if wrong.
The owners manual has not arrived at my dealership. Is it just dealership specific or others have not received it as well? So can't do any DIY's just yet.
I've also found one of my Forks(Rh one to be precise) to be leaking oil, a replacement oil seal is on its way.! Not to amplify the problem any further, its a machine after all, first lot of production, earlier the rectification, the better for others as well..! Hope this is just my bike and not related to the whole production lot.!

I'll try to updates the Positives and negatives as and when found so that potential owners can benefit and make the correct choice. Till thn, Cheers, Ride Safe..!

Congratulation Buddy, which colour did u actully buy? The showroom guy is handing over the keys of the black Ribboned bike, and once out of the showroom its the Blue Shade that i see..!
    Congrats again.

Have you ridden with pillion? Can you post some pics with a pillion from some angles?

Hi karan, blue it is, black one was just for the photo op.
Today drove on highway & touched 120 at 7k rpm & the windblast was pretty high without leaning forward.
However, noticed the rear tyre slightly shaking while turning at 100k speed, need to check whether any rear shock absorber setting needs to be changed. At the current setting bike is stiff.

It was more of a fight between Benelli T300 and the Yamaha R3 for me, but being an Indian, the love for full faired bikes was just too strong to convince myself for the benelli.
Regarding the colour, noupes, black was always the first choice for me. An all black garage is my idea of a beautiful garage. May b a 600i in black in the future would complete the stable!
Now I don't think the N300 price is marginal with R3. When checked N300 costs 4.55 Lacs (On Road)in Kerala. Some exorbitant tax structure it seems.

Although the video is not official from YAMAHA, but looks like 2016 Model to get matt black color scheme for Europe.

Blue also got little change in the graphics,

Regarding performance of bike, again it can add up to controversy/discussion/debate, but how much I felt, the character of riding R3 is as agile as what Yamaha has been but comparison with others is again a subjective and depends on person to person comparison.

And moreover r15vs cbr150 is again a subjective even with listening lot of criticism from CBR owners also and that count is big and not only handful.

Though I never liked the torque of R15 but happy to see a good amount of low end torque of R3.

Lastly guess you rode the r3 which has not completed any run in and moreover everyday any poser is coming there to take test ride who are way different than you and me how we ride these bikes. This again influences performances and handling of that particular.

Rather I would like to quote @ArnabC who is riding his R3 almost everyday though for shorter distance and he is happy to see that gearbox is gelling and getting refined day by day.

Off course N300 would be better rather in this segment it was my favourite but again having a slipper clutch does add the benefit to swift handling, easy clutch play and gear handling too.

I am waiting for coming Sunday when both the R3 owners from Bangalore would be completing there runin by then and there will be a proper extensive review.

PS: Got to know today that 10w40rating oil would be used in R3. And general service parts have arrived in Bangalore. So owners can finish there runins soon.
Eagerly waiting for updates on this.

It does heat up easily but not as bad as the Duke. The body work doesnt heat up but stopping at any signal for more than 20 secs gets the fan running. The only issue is the fan blows heat on the left side legs and right side foot.

Its 7 step adjustable. Default is at level 3, keeping our road conditions in mind. Try playing around to find a sweet spot for yourself.

The first official owner of R3 in India - abhisheksircar seems to be a member of Team-bhp and maybe that's why there was no post of him in here. He had put up an excellent review in there.

120 at 7k rpm!!!! are you sure about it. How much I remember at 115 it surpasses 7k rpm.

And regarding suspension get it check at which step is it.
3rd and 4td step is idle for city ride and highway rides.
