Were you the guy with the Red Fazer and the DSLR? My friend was there at the same time - he managed to get a test ride on the black R3.
I was on blue R15, I knew they gave TD to somebody because the black bike in the svc looked dirty. They cheated me saying TD is not available and said that black bike is undergoing PDI .
Giving customers 3.7 lakh rupee motorcycle for TD is not good, and with this thought I didn't push much for TD

You should have said," Well you just lost 3.96L by not giving Test Drive to a potential customer"

Would have loved to own this awesome machine if I had not booked a rc390 and the price was a little less. Too greedy I guess.
Yamaha haven't been good in justifying why they didn't put Delta box chassis. If they can afford Delta box in 1.08 lakh rupee R15 V1 (7 years ago) and 1.25 lakh rupee R15 V2, then it is difficult to digest that they can not afford in 3.7 lakh rupee R3. By saying its for cost reduction they are indirectly killing the premium-ness of the R3, which is not good for themselves.

Second reason about the weight is not convincing again, V1 weighed 131 kg and V2 137(approx) and are the lightest bikes in the class. Adding bit more strength to R15s delta box wouldn't have made R3 heavy IMO.

However, Ninja has been doing wonders with Tube chassis all these years and I am sure R3 will also do, already doing I believe

I visited the yamaha showroom in malad w (Mumbai) today and was informed that the display bike would take 10 more days. (Was informed earlier that the bike would be in the showroom by 30th Aug or 1st week of sept).

The showroom guy informed me that the on-road price is 3.74 lakhs and surprisingly the bike has a 2 month waiting period.

When I asked about the test ride for the bike, I was told that the showroom guys pay half of the amount and the rest of it is paid by the company and that the company hasn't released the td vehicle for them.

The bike is displayed at the showroom near kamla mill compound but I guess even they are not giving td's.

I would love to wait for the MT03 though.

          Cheers

Last week, a car guy just took left on ORR (without indicator) and I almost hit him. Looking at my bike, he started yelling that I own an expensive bike and trying to show off (I was hardly at 40's). Point I am trying to make is- anything like this, ppl will just blame you because you own a super-bike and you must have been racing. And a non-state number plate will add to all the trouble (I have faced issue's when I took my KA bike to Mumbai). I am just quoting one of the case, don't know why people always assume you buy a good bike to race!!! I never race and dont intend to :-)

Chennai price is 30K less than Bangalore. That's the difference it makes!

If you closely observe then you found that all 4 Japanese companies make their bike some what identical to each other.

When Honda introduce 250 CC bike, they make new chassis which is identical with Ninja 250 where they have good chassis in CBR150.
                        Same Yamaha done for R25/R3.

I don't say they copy but as they (design and research team) are from same location (japan) then it quite possible they are inspire with their competitors.

You can also do similar comparison for European models.

When we crank up the bike it sound like a Superbike with ssweet sound of exhaust.
At 7k+ rpm it just refines and disappear at high speed. Very less sound. Just an audible refined sound of weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiinnnnnnnnnn (understand the emotions )

Yet to see the bike in real.

Its raining R3s in bangalore. 3rd one picked up today and again from YRC. All 3 are from xbhp tooo.

To the future buyers of N300 or R3 or any other bike to which you are upgrading to : Please test ride that particular bike and buy if u feel good about it. The chassis or tyres are not gonna make you rossi. They are part of package. Depends on how u feel about the ride and also how you control the bike.

Oh really? So much for a state feeding you? There are innocent people who do get strangled due to the nonsensical RTO drive but what you're doing is tax evasion (for years together) and yet you proudly broadcast your actions as if it were something great. Guess what, Pondicherry has lesser taxes than Chennai. Try riding a PY reg bike in KA.
One should respect the law of the land, however stupid it may seem. It may seem unfair, but then you won't live in fear of cops (in this case) all the time.

The way you put down your thoughts was wrong! R3 isn't a mass market (expensive, exclusive and yet without all bells and whistles) bike and select few enthusiasts here want to get it, but they weren't happy with the package as a whole.
