Quality comes at a price. It doesn't matter if they are charging 6-7000rs/- over regular 150cc bike because they are delivering best quality in Indian market.

Re: Yamaha Starts Dealer Training For R25
very nicely said.Originally posted by NitinGirish View PostR15, when launched there was nothing like it in the Indian market. In many ways it was the CBZ or a Pulsar of its time, i.e. a pioneering product for our market. We still don't have something that can effectively compete with it in that price bracket.
Fz though not a ground breaking product, had a fresh style and that earned its own fan following.
But now, the scenario is completely different in the "affordable performance" category. The definitions of affordable has changed, performance has changed and there are already products launched and doing well in that category.
250cc and brand building...not very sure but yeah that can be an excuse for having this product in their portfolio.
In 2014, RC390 spoiled us. KTM-Bajaj have managed to show riders that they can buy an affordable sportsbike that is brilliantly value for money. The cc-to-lakhs standard is set high. Yamaha on the other handle surely can't and wouldn't sell R25 as a VFM product (assuming it will be priced around 2.5 lakhs +/- 10,000, ESR). But this doesnt mean that the product will fail. Pricing alone can't decide a product faith.www.motorcykle.in - The lighter side of motorcycling

i think this is a race track bike just like R15. such bikes have limited use and may not be useful for long drives. sitting position is not comfortable.vijay super-1981,vespa1984,herohonda1988,herohondasleek1989,su zuki shaolin1994,herohondacbz2000,suzukiferro2000,honda unicorn2004,kawasaki-bajaj eliminator2005,rtr1802010

Re: Yamaha Starts Dealer Training For R25
Contrarily, R15 is one of the best selling product of Yamaha India, inspite of being 2nd most expensive bike in 150cc segment yet people don't buy it thinking I will ride this just on tracks. In India, no body uses a motorcycle for one purpose only.Originally posted by bhadoriabtp View Posti think this is a race track bike just like R15. such bikes have limited use and may not be useful for long drives. sitting position is not comfortable.www.motorcykle.in - The lighter side of motorcycling

Re: Yamaha Starts Dealer Training For R25
Though the sitting posture for R15 is not pillion friendly, many R15 has completed long tours comfortably. R15 has been a benchmark in the sub 200cc category. If sanely priced, R25 has the potential as well. And R25 may finally pave the way for other low and middle capacity bikes of Yamaha to be available in India(like MT125/250 or R3).A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

Re: Yamaha Starts Dealer Training For R25
As far as my understanding goes, if the so called rumours of imminent launch of the R25 in India is true, Yamaha will most likely follow the approach of R15 where initially, major components like the engine, transmission & fuel pump will be sourced via CKD route. As a company i am pretty sure that they do have some amount of profitability in mind. So manufacturing other components like tubular chassis, petrol tank, fiber panels, mag wheels, electrical components like wiring, ECU, headlight dome, brake light dome, RR unit, ignition coils, battery, brake components and other bits and pieces locally should be easily doable as they already have a vendor base in India who have been supplying quality components for R15, some of which are being also shipped to other markets like Japan for instance.
So i believe adding these same items as mentioned above to be procured from the local vendor base/parts suppliers will significantly reduce the manufacturing cost of R25 for Yamaha atleast though the same benefit being passed onto the customer in terms of R25's pricing is doubtful. Historically Yamaha is not known to have launched any bikes from their product line in India with lower price tag so there is a good possibility of this model to be introduced with the price band on the higher side (much to the disappointment of majority of Yamaha fans!!). We may eventually look at reduced costs on the spares (electrical components, clutch plates, valves, air filter, oil filter, chain & sprockets etc.) as more and more engine components get localised if the demand of this product becomes higher in the Indian market.
P.S.: All assumptions based on the pattern followed by Yamaha with R15 in India.
I believe if out of any miraculous reason Yamaha prices it just right then it will still garner a lot of riders who want to upgrade from their existing 150cc bikes to a higher capacity regardless of existing competitors like KTM, Hero and the soon to be followed launches from other companies in India. The fan base for this brand is quite strong.
Just sharing my two cents.

Re: Yamaha Starts Dealer Training For R25
Twin cylinder 250cc with Yamaha reliability and quality for 3 lakhs is apt for Indian market and my next ride

Almost booked Ninja 300 last week before hearing spare parts price, availability and they must be ordered before hand. Ninja would have done great numbers if it was priced at 3 lakhs.
Coming to RC 390, its best vfm in terms of bhp/price ratio. Please do not compare it with twin cylinder Japanese mfgs. Refinement, quality are at another level. People who are taking 43bhp RC for 2.35 lakhs would definitely have second thought if 36bhp R25 comes at 3 lakhs.

Re: Yamaha Starts Dealer Training For R25
I would any time prefer the R25/N300 over the RC390.. my preference is very simple.. parallel twin is the reason. Much refined, better quality and engine sounds better..Originally posted by Reinhard_Hyd View PostTwin cylinder 250cc with Yamaha reliability and quality for 3 lakhs is apt for Indian market and my next ride
