as told before, R1 and R1M launched at the price mentioned earlier (correction ) the earlier price i mentioned was on road and not ex showroom. sorry about that. i had misheard the info that day.

    coming back to r25/r3 now.
    yawn
patience guys... even i am running out of it
another week and we will get the info we need about this. very strong feeling that its gonna be r3.

The r25 was launched in may 2014 and r3 in oct 2014. too early to launch with testing it in india , especially if they are considering both and launching 1 of them. its not like amazon delivery where they manufacture in other country and deliver to india within days or weeks

    just for reference:
the P200RS was showcased in 2014 auto expo and took abt a year to be launched and was launched abt a month ago. being a home grown bike it took a year. and u got a 200cc again . (why? because you are getting it at low cost. and with ktm and kawa behind them). ofcourse its triple spark now and more power and abs. the 400cc has not seen daylight yet.
suzuki went nuts and launched inazuma at high price. what happ? it didnt last a year. other manufacturers will take a note about this, apart from hero, honda and bajaj (they have strong hold here) . i see gixxer selling well and i personally like it. but the faired version was a nonsense at 14ps, i will not be surprised if this also goes out too
    .

now r25 was launched in Indonesia in may2014 (imported in india last july) and r3 was launched in Europe and got here in jan 2015 for testing (trying my best to gather facts, excuse me if anything is wrong). now its minor difference between both bikes, hence a lot of time for testing the r25 than r3. asking the bike soon means , a CBU bike costing more. and as expected we will complain on that even more all new bike we are getting. so it has to go thru some layers before reaching us. not to forget that they are planning 7 bikes (2 already launched , r1 and r1m).

yamaha meeting up at chennai this time. because of their new assembly line. possible launch also will be chennai (hoping it will be bangalore )

The question about yamaha giving importance to Indonesia is that its a big market for them, even for honda. check their moto gp bikes, both have indonesian language tag lines on them, giving importance to indonesia..

i am contemplating a sept 2015 launch of the r3 but CKD.

PS: just because i or we are getting old does not mean the market is gone

I have been waiting for so long for the launch of RC390 but now I realize that its not feasible to own one in my state due to poor roads and highly adulterated fuels everywhere. So was contemplating buying the reliable but over the roof expensive N300 and the only thing giving me second thoughts was the lack of ABS on Ninja and the possibility of the R3 with it launching soon.
So when you enquire, please do find out if there is a possibility of getting the ABS version.

Will do that. i guess Europe version has ABS right. this article says that it has abs at rear wheel. so hopefully it will have here also.

MCN mentions ABS as standard on all UK bikes.

I think the power figures are slightly off. Honda CBR250R- 26HP, Ninja300- 39HP and KTM- 44HP

Those figures are at the rear wheel and the figures that company claims is built up at the crank. There are some losses when that power travels from crank to the rear wheel.
Ultimately the power figures shown in the graph is the usable power at hand.

So are you saying CBR makes more power than specified power at rear wheel? And would R-3 specified power be 42HP in that case?

I am pretty sure it is CBR 300, which puts out 30.4 bhp at crank.

So a premium pricing for a "me too" product won't exactly set the sales chart on fire.
If 3L would be the price better go for something else. Like you said true it won't be a vfm. Well the right time will come when they actually bring the bike in the auto expo launch. I am sure many companies would be bringing something good in 2016 for us.

But, why on earth Yamaha is considering Indians inferior riders than Indonasians(no offence)? Do they think that we will not be able to handle a 150cc+ Yamaha? If so, sweet dreams Yamaha.

                              They launched it today

The Yamaha Saluto 125 commuter has been launched in India at INR 52,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). Contrary to the initial expectation, the new motorcycle is positioned above the existing YBR125. The company hinted that it might phase out the YBR125. With a fresh styling and emphasis on fuel economy, the Saluto aims to bring in a significant sales volume from the segment which has been ruled by the Honda CB Shine 125.
