What is your opinion about the looks of the bike in comparison to the Ninja 300? Is it pretty in real?Originally posted by lathiwala_99 View PostHi Motorheads! Re: Yamaha Starts Dealer Training For R25
I would be very surprised if it was a single. This is because some of the parts imported are unmistakably those of a twin cylinder. For example, the throttle body as shown in a capture below:Originally posted by sparky View PostLooks like R-3s but how did they sound like? Single or twin?
Unless a single cylinder is somehow going to start using dual throttle bodies, it is a twin engine for sure.
Another part is the exhaust that has been imported.
In my opinion we are going to get the international R3 as-is with ABS sometime soon.200 | 300 | 1200 BOXER

Re: Yamaha Starts Dealer Training For R25
The bike looked sort of huge and it had a tank hump like Ninja 650 but i still think Ninja 300 is a better designed bike (but its my perception)Originally posted by berudulom View PostWhat is your opinion about the looks of the bike in comparison to the Ninja 300? Is it pretty in real?
I wasn't able to hear the sound of the bike, so can't comment on it.Originally posted by sparky View PostLooks like R-3s but how did they sound like? Single or twin?

Thats really good news for folks looking for an alternative to Ninja 300. Best part is Yamaha is testing these bikes in Indian conditions, so that they could alter some settings to suit us more. Dont know if Kawasaki took the pain of testing Ninja 300 in Indian conditions. None the less, there is very little to complain about 300.
I guess launch is good 3 to 4 months away, judging by the time it took to launch R15 v1 & v2 once test vehicles were spotted.
Now that test bikes are spotted it is only matter of time before we lay our hands on these beauties.

Re: Yamaha Starts Dealer Training For R25
The R15 was a new product, even though it used an existing bike's frame, engine etc thereby necessitating more extensive testing.
The R3 on the other hand is a bike already in production. My guess is that there is not going to be much testing in India. Maybe they will adjust suspension settings, tweak for lower octane petrol and add that mindblowing saree guard (already done)
This bike should launch earlier IMO.Last edited by tanay; 05-15-2015, 01:57 PM.200 | 300 | 1200 BOXER

Re: Yamaha Starts Dealer Training For R25
naa, they will launch in september. Since its festival time and going by their track rec of launching premium bikes earlier. Yamaha is very secretive. they will come out of nowhere with a launch. After their recent scooter launch yamaha is concentrating on premium segment bikes till 2016 end. so expect loads of them including the mt09 and mt25Originally posted by tanay View PostThe R15 was a new product, even though it used an existing bike's frame, engine etc thereby necessitating more extensive testing.
