re: Honda unveils the CBR250RR in Indonesia!
Glad they kept the design cues from the concepts unchanged as earlier hinted. Love the headlight setup, not so excited about the exhaust setup as it feels out of place on a 250 but its always changeable. Ride-by-wire is said to be confirmed. This is currently limited to Indonesia and Japan where 250cc restrictions apply. Now awaiting the bigger displacement international version at the Tokyo Motor Show later in October or at EICMA next year. This is what the bike is said to be sounding like *cannot confirm*
And here is the walkaround video post launch: Engine and frame and body parts for public display.

re: Honda unveils the CBR250RR in Indonesia!
Honda Two Wheelers finally unveiled the CBR 250RR in Indonesia today, and it looks killer to say the least. Teasers of this bike have been floating around on the internet for quite some time now and we must say the wait has been worth.
The Honda CBR 250RR retains Honda's Light Weight Super Sports Concept design with minimal changes. It just looks more muscular and chiseled. It is powered by a fuel-injected 249.7 cc, parallel twin, liquid cooled engine. The power and toruqe figures have not been revealed by Honda though. This engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission and has got 3 different riding modes - Comfort, Sports, & Sports+. The other goodies include ride-by-wire technology and USD front forks and aluminum swing arm. The fuel tank capacity is 14.5 L. Dimension wise, the CBR 250RR has 2060 mm length, overall height of 1098 mm, seat height of 790 mm, overall width of 724 mm, ground clearance of 145 mm, and wheelbase of 1389 mm.
It will be available in 3 different colors - Racing Red, Anchor Grey Metallic. & Mate Gunpowder Metallic.

The CBR 250RR definitely looks like a buy worth buying, but whether or not it will be brought to India or not is not clear yet. But if it indeed comes to India, Honda needs to be very careful with its pricing because it will be competing directly against the likes of KTM RC390, which is priced very competitively.

Bring it to India, price it north of everything in its category and kill it.Originally posted by sunilg View PostThe CBR 250RR definitely looks like a buy worth buying, but whether or not it will be brought to India or not is not clear yet. Or, make it in India, price it normally and make it a legend.
We know what honda is used to doing with these class(and higher) of bikes.
3 + lakh is a sensitive price point in a market like India at the moment, anything below that price for a 250 might be good to rack up some sales. But looking at the pricing of the existing cbr which is made in india, I highly doubt a 'reasonable' pricing from Honda for an import or made in India twin.
This is my opinion related to pricing vs sales and has nothing to do with the technical or performance aspect of the bike! i have high confidence in their technical and performance capabilities but its sadly the price that kills the prospect of owning one for a lot of folks.

Re: Honda unveils the CBR250RR in Indonesia!
Price in Indonesia is 3.3 lakhs (non-ABS) and 3.6 lakhs(ABS) when converted to INR.
The bike sits higher than the R25 and the Ninja 250 by about 50k INR for the non ABS variants.
The bike sports an aluminium swingarm, USD forks, pro-link monoshock, all led lights, large fully digital console, and ride-by-wire system with 3 engine modes.
This is not the international variant, just limited to Indonesia and Japan where R25 and N250 sell.
The world model debuts later at the end of the year or early next year and is rumored to be made(or assembled) in Thailand.
Part of the reason why the bike is expensive than the rivals despite being made in Indonesia is being attributed to a rumor suggesting that the engine is imported from Japan and assembled with the rest of the bike in Indonesia. This might also be the case with the 320cc model wherever it is manufactured.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Inserted the vid using the insert option(still it is appearing as a link not vid), but copy pasted the honda indonesia fan page. That might have screwed it up!

Also found out that those Showa inverted forks were blueprinted and designed in Japan and then built in Showa's Indonesian facility.Originally posted by Nithesh View PostThe bike sports an aluminium swingarm, USD forks, pro-link monoshock, all led lights, large fully digital console, and ride-by-wire system with 3 engine modes.
