Re: Launched: TVS Apache RTR200 4V @ 88k and Victor for 49k
I feel TVS is playing safe, they are initially surveying the demand for the bike, like which variant is in much demand. According to that they will plan the production. Retro fitting the ABS is not worth and it doesn't work as a factory fittted ones. I feel its worth to wait...Originally posted by Harideep View PostI wasted almost 4 months for buying TVS ABS bike.. Its a complete different segment. And CBS is not ABS ... you will have to make up your mind unfortunately. And there is nothing wrong in waiting ... painful but nothing wrongOriginally posted by Harideep View PostI wasted almost 4 months for buying TVS ABS bike.. Again 6 months

It is always a waiting game and when you think you got what you want there will be news of the next best thing right around the corner :-)When I'm on the road, I'm indestructible. No one can stop me... but they try.

Afaik it'll around 1.27~ approx. And no, customers will not. Tvs may have bad marketing but remember their reach is way way more than ktm will ever have.
Also, no they'll not go for three D200 if you are thinking at a price point. 1.7L and 1.27 are very different price points and they don't even come close. The price difference is almost 30% and that's a huge margin thinking you lose safety features like ABS and even higher quality Pirelli.[/QUOTE]
Really? At 1.27 in KA I have my doubts because here 180ABS is trading around 1.04 and if we add 20 more cc,new bike style,FI and piralli tyre and marketing cost it may cost northward of 1.4(including new tax and on road) so add 25-30k and get the proven D200 as rtr200 is a new bike and may be unknown niggles associated IMHO.
Another 6 months for top end is not a bad strategy? It means Nov-Dec release,so it is like Shooting yourself in the foot.
if they release after 6 months where Ktm might have released new D200-250 and priced competitively and might competition will be moved to the next level with more bikes in the segment.
As of now the carb will cost 108900 on road without ABS.

Yes really. You also have to think that they are always vary their prices. You are missing the fact that the stock tyres prices will be subtracted and carb price too. I won't be surprised if they get the bike for that price otr. Tvs is not know for pricing it's product at a premium.
And new road tax? Oh lord no :|
Afaik, it'll be there by May end the Fi with options.

Re: Launched: TVS Apache RTR200 4V @ 88k and Victor for 49k
Regarding the pricing, yes it may hover around 1.4L on road Bangalore for the FI, Pirelli and ABS. Sorry to say, 25-30K may look small but for people who have already stretched a lot on their budget to get their hands on the RTR 200 may find it difficult to stretch further. The RTR 200 is made for people looking for performance with a budget, which it fills quite reasonably. That is the reason you have so many variants to choose from, based on your budget. Coming to the D200, it also has its share of niggles which can be found on the D200 thread on the forum.Originally posted by Punto@bang View Post

Another 4-6 months seems apt for getting all the variants in a phased manner. It will be available around August-September 2016. KTM will not be bringing in the 2017 version before the end of the year (the 2016 models reached showrooms by Feb 2016), so it won't be a direct competition here. Given the fact that newer models will be different from the current lot, the price will also see a hike.My bond with the oil hearts :

2011 Royal Enfield Classic - 500 EFI

1988 Yamaha RX 100
2000 TVS Suzuki Shogun

The proven d200? Excuse me but I've known people wait, rather than buy a duke, for the new pulsars.
Same will be the case for this bike as well. There are loads of people who would never buy a duke. This apache is like a boon for such folks.
End of day, all depends on one factor. Pricing. Am talking of the initial sales here. Obviously, for it to grow a good market share, quality would come next. Lets see!ZMR- PGMFI re-defined

Wrong quote :P And yes, D200 proven? The way people abuse the Apache if that was the case here people would have to the carry Duke's engine and go home.Originally posted by abhi7013 View PostThe proven d200? Excuse me but I've known people wait, rather than buy a duke, for the new pulsars.

I still don't understand what quality do people talk about? Plastic panels? Wheels? Tyres? What exactly?

Fyi the RTR 200 also made up with plastic panels one such thing is a fuel tank assembled with three pieces.Originally posted by JS16 View PostWrong quote :P And yes, D200 proven? The way people abuse the Apache if that was the case here people would have to the carry Duke's engine and go home.

Nothing wrong in it,as the power output is less so some where it has to go for diet and result is showing.
Regarding the quality the RTR has it's own set of issues, as a previous 180 abs owner I can give first hand experience such as switches become ineffective once the bike takes bath in rain or washing and it is caused due to water can seep easily inside the switch panel and WD40 comes to your rescue.
vibrates at 5-6 k rpm and it is very annoying which will make your hand numb after riding for some kms and infamous oil leakage(might have happened to me).
Still there are list of other issues which will be keep on going so this is not the thread to discuss it.Period.
I didn't understand your comment about the Ktm engines are they so inferior in quality? never heard one such instance where engine has gone for the task if it is please guide through some threads as I am also considering as one of the bike for buying.Last edited by Punto@bang; 03-25-2016, 02:42 AM.

Re: Launched: TVS Apache RTR200 4V @ 88k and Victor for 49k
FYI i know that the tank is made up of fiber to be precise. Checking the plastic panels on both the motorcycles and specially the switch gears which will also be used on the Bmw G310R anyone can say which uses better quality one's. It was your bad luck that switch gear stopped working.Originally posted by Punto@bang View PostFyi the RTR 200 also made up with plastic panels one such thing is a fuel tank assembled with three pieces.

Rtr 200 comes with a balancer to sort things out, ride it once you'll know what I'm talking about. Infamous oil leakage? That's the gasket which expands and that happens in 1 out of 25-30 vehicles.
Coming to the D200 engines, have you heard the part where people have tandoori legs? I've had chats with many of my friends who said their spark plug cover came out on the highway and they couldn't understand why that would pop out!?
Also you know 90% of the people are too busy to register and type in all of the problems. Ask xbhp admins to give a report of the guests and members together at the same time who are viewing the website. To know more, you should look up in the service centres.
