I always wanted to see TVS make the RTR with the focus - Rekt the best in class out there. That would be the Duke 200.Eqquipping the RTR with Full on Liquid Cooling and 6 Gears along with Fuel Injection and 4 Valves.Pumping our some 24-25 Bhp.Rekting the D200 would have brought the war like Shogun vs RX ALL OVER AGAIN and would have been epic. But sadly,TVS wanted it to be VFM,Cheapest 200 making the lowest power. It's like a shot in the foot.It might make TVS look like a Peasantry brand with subpar bikes,When in reality,Their Bikes were great and Build Quality was great too.A title which was always for Bajaj :P

Duke 200 is not always about power.the thing that makes it special is that you can drive it sedately but when u r in a mood just whack the throttle and there you go.
Then you have the amazing flickability , very light body, never ending console,WP shocks, excellent t stock tyres, amazing fuel economy, very refined engine, good build quality(atleast the 2016 models by far),Comfortable riding seat(2016),bigger disks......the list can go on.
Suddenly when you compare all those with other bikes it sounds amazingly good vfm product!

So the list goes on and on. I haven't seen any D200 owner not complain about mileage till today, when 3 of my friends have one, albeit not the 2016 variant. No offence but KTM is an amazing bad*** brand. Bajaj is just ruining that name slowly. I am a chartered accountant and 1.7 lakhs for a D200 still does not sound like vfm for me bro. Before you throw mud on someone or something, at least have the audacity to be in their shoes or ride the bike. I don't suppose this is a comparison thread? Peace

FYI, xplod566 is a satisfied owner of new Duke 200. So, i think he is right from his perspective, as long as he feels his money was well spent.: )

And lets put an end to comparo discussions.

See, that's what I'm saying. What is the point comparing the two when one of them is not even in the market yet?

HyperRetard- No more than 33. Let's leave it at that, when we've decided to not argue about this anymore.

                33 is fair enough, IMO.

I expect 30-35 from any 200 cc machine in the market, including my own. Be it the ZMA, the Bajaj plethora of bikes, the CBR250r etc.

Dont honestly see what the cribbing is all about.

No indication of the prices on the TVS Apache website for Apache 200. The dealer might be trying to cashin on the new bike launch.

The Life time road tax is almost 14% (KA) !!! Then a few "cess" will be applied from April. So, you are looking at 12-13 k as tax ! Then insurance will cost you some 2-3k?
The rest is dealer profit!! The bike is a "hot cake", everyone wants it hot.The dealer names his price, people pay.

                            RTR 180 ABS itself cost 1.05L OTR(BLR).

Yes exactly. Moreover i see a price increment of 2000INR.
And the ex showroom prices were Chennai's, not Bangalore. It's not new that everything motor vehicle is more expensive in Bangalore as compared to other cities.
And 180ABS is 104138/- on road.
